Dented, cracked, has sap running down it

This came with no holes for the screws. Not one! The pictures in the instructions show all the holes but none were drilled into the bookcase. I had no way of returning this so I had to work with it. I had to drill my own holes into this and it took me 3 HOURS to put together. The manufacturer should be ashamed of themselves! Not only that, but one of the shelves had a whole piece broke off! So poor packing as well. I'm afraid this whole thing is going to fall apart one day because I don't know if I did a good enough job at drilling the holes. There are gaps between the shelves and the ends and I didn't even bother to drill holes in the top piece. By that step, I was too tired and didn't care if the top piece was attached or not. DO NOT BUY!!!

This was a birthday gift for my son who was in desperate need of a bookcase. He absolutely loves it! Quality material and it was easy to assemble.

I've assembled almost all of the furniture that we own and this shelf has me stumped. None of my five hand screwdrivers will fit into the space that is available (the handles are wider than the space to turn them in). There are no pilot holes pre-drilled for the screws, and it specifically says not to use power tools. Not sure this will ever be assembled unless I buy a special tiny-handled screwdriver. Love the design, but it either needs to come with its own tool for assembly, or a better way to attach the shelves.

Nice looking bookshelf, but really impossible to build because it has ~50 screws and the power screwdriver (drill shaped) doesn't get in there to really screw the screws in; manual screwing is nearly impossible. The places where the screws didn't go all the way in are obvious up close (gaps between pieces or screw heads not sunken) but definitely not noticeable from a distance. For the price, this could be better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this bookcase a lot. It was easy to assemble (took maybe 30 minutes) and it looks nice too. It came with all the parts, and went together with screws, which was nice to see, as I know that books can be heavy and having the screws in the shelves makes it much more stable. I would suggest getting an extension drill bit to use to put it together because some of the screws are a bit hard to reach without it.

It fits perfect in my living room for a few books, some pottery and my candles and adds a warm feel to my room. Beautiful finish as well. Very expensive looking.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before I review this product, I must say that I love the bookshelf a lot. They not only serve to keep my books/decorative items in order but also adds to the rooms decor. I already have one in each room. Here goes my review of the product: Pre-Assembly: 1. The product is literally very wooden and has a decent weight as well as box. 2. My initial impression about the product was very exciting as the color is very good and as you can feel the product with your hand, one will definitely admire the quality of the product. During the Assembly: 1. First things first, I made an inventory of all the screws and boards to be used to assemble the final product. It comes with the regular screws and I used my tool box to start the work. Nothing more than a usual screw driver with inter-changeable head is required. 2. The user manual was quite informative but the absence of grooves to fix the screws was a bit of effort. I wish they had pre-done the screw grooves so that the effort would be just to match the holes and tighten the screws. It took me close to 1.5 hrs to complete all the tightening of screws and manually tightening screws was no child's play. Final product: Once we are done with the all stuff, the product looks really very elegant. My 8 year old, although she helped very little during the assembly, snapped the assembled product by saying that she needs to put her toys on it and it can't be used for books. So my bookshelf has now become a toy shelf :). Still, the product is very attractive in looks and adds to the decor of the room especially the tobacco themed color. Overall: an attractive looking product adding to the room decor. Only wished that the assembly was a bit easy...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This piece of furniture is really nice. Fits great in my kitchen area. This bookcase was not hard to put together. Really nice color as well fits perfectly with my other furniture. You could put almost anything on it.

Quality materials and a nice look. However, it was very difficult to put together! We had to start over three times. The other customers were right - we could not get the screws to fasten all the way down. The book case is very unstable until we have other family member or neighbor use an electric tool.

I didn't put this one together myself but my husband seems to think it came with a lot of extra screws and wooden dowels. It is a little shorter than I had hoped (compared to the size of the box) but was easy to assemble and seems sturdy. Great quality piece for the price, and I shopped around a ton.

My husband and I tried to put this together and simply couldn’t get some of the screws in all the way. Therefore it is quite wobbly. We’re having a handyman give it a go to see if he can get it tight so it will be sturdy and not lean to the side. It is definitely smaller than I thought it would be based on the picture.

All wood, very nice looking and sturdy when assembled. I agree with others that the shelf space is a little smaller than I expected but I was still able to fit most of my books in it. It took a bit longer than I expected to put it together but I didn't have any trouble, even without power tools.

Just the right size for my tiny apartment. It’s very sturdy, easy to assemble and a great match with other darker wood pieces already in place. I’d recommend this bookcase.

I love this bookshelf. I did not put it together though, and most complaints seem to be about assembly. We put it in my sons nursery which is a small bedroom and we desperately needed a shelf for all the books. This shelf is very sturdy. It is small so make sure you measure and this is the size you are looking for. We put a small TV on the top of it and it looks wonderful. I am actually back on the website because I am purchasing this shelf again, this time for my daughter's nursery. It's a good piece of furniture if someone comes back to purchase it again!

I love this bookcase - now that it's put together. I have only basic tools but thought I could get by with my screwdriver. However, there were no pre-drilled holes for the many many scews required to hold this bookcase together. I had to enlist someone with a power screwdriver to help. It looks great, tho, and fits perfectly in the spot I have for it in our office.
