This is one of my child's favorite Tonies and she plays it daily. The story narrative sounds like it's from the movie, but the songs are sung by different performers. My daughter has never seen the movie so she'd not bothered, but it bothers me since this is a movie I grew up with. Probably my biggest gripe about the Disney Tonies is they don't use the songs from the movies! At these prices they should be the original music. Also they are too short.

My 7 year old granddaughter enjoys some of the tonies because of the movies she watches or hears the songs of them, ie. , did not and won't watch Lion King because of her tender heart.

Very disappointed to learn none of the Disney Toonies are the songs that are well known. To make it worse the replacement singers aren’t very good.

Just an fyi that there is a mistake in the story plot. (For those who have kids that know all the details) At the end Rafiki says “I hold him up” but Simba’s first cub is a girl, not a boy.

I love the Disney Tonies! At first, I saw the reviews that songs are not original and Yoto cards have more minutes. But hey! those tonies just work perfectly for younger kids (3-5yrs). The stories are indeed shorter (10 -15 minutes), but that’s how long younger kids can follow. It is also great that they have the best songs in the same Tonie, unlike Yoto that you have to purchase stories and songs separately.
