For something labeled "steel" this has a lot of plastic. Most critically, the part where the crane slots in is plastic and easily bent, so it's really hard to get the arm to stay up. And then when you finally do, the crane also tips over easily

Thank you so much for your inquiry on the Tonka Truck Steel ratio format. In the "Steel" segment or truck line Tonka trucks have used the same consistent steel materials for the past 20 years. The main piece is steel while the wheels, underside and bumper are all plastic. Depending on your truck style, the following would be made out of steel: Cab, Engine Cover, Chassis and Dump truck bed. The plastic pieces are all toy tested to pass all safety and strength tests to keep the truck Tonka Tough! Buying a Tonka steel crane for our grandson was one of our holiday purchases. Considering my son had Tonka work toys, I wondered if the crane would be comparable in quality. The crane arrived as promised, and even though the steel doesn't seem as thick, it is a quality item. Tonka steel trucks were a big hit with my son. Despite their age, the trucks are in excellent condition. Designed to last a lifetime, Tonka steel trucks are built to last.
