Murder, attempted murder, serial killer, arson. What a story! Single divorced mother Sadie has had a hard life. Her husband left after finding out their son Myles had diabetes. Sadie is sole support for her and Myles (and Myles service dog Dolly). Rocco is a local police officer who has a dog named Cocoa that is trained to sniff out accelerant in fires. They come together when Sadie and Myles is threatened by a fire in their home. Rocco tries to protect them as someone is out to kill her in harrowing car chases. There are lots of suspects in town with various motives. I was surprised at the end which makes for a great suspense novel. I received a complimentary ebook from the author but was not required to write a review.

Another fantastic book by Jessica R. Patch! With realistic and heartwarming characters, tons of twists and turns and an unexpected ending, this book is definitely a "must read". I really liked that throughout the book there was some humor threaded within the suspense and I loved seeing Rocco and Sadie grow throughout the book (their banter about one of her recipes was the greatest!) . Overall,I loved everything about the book and give it 5 stars!! I was given the book to read and review - all opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this book. There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me guessing. I thought that Sadie and Rocco were excellent main characters, and Myles was an adorable character. I haven’t read the rest of the series, but I am planning to go back and read the whole thing, and I also am looking forward to new books from this author. *I received a copy of this book for review. This exciting addition to the multi-author Mountain Country K-9 Unit series hooked me with the first line: “Someone was watching.” The hunt is on in the small, tight-knit community of Elk Valley, Wyoming, for an arsonist bent on killing food truck owner Sadie Owens. The action-packed, danger-filled plot kept me guessing to the end with a perfect blend of inspiration, romance, and suspense. I love Rocco, the honorable and chivalrous hero, and Sadie, the strong independent yet vulnerable heroine. Brave little three-year old Myles stole my heart! I appreciate the valuable, relevant faith lessons on trusting God. This quote gave me pause to contemplate: “She wanted to be able to say, ‘I trust Him even if…’ and mean it to the marrow of her bones.” The “to be continued” ending leaves another case open making way for the next books in the series. I love this story and recommend it as a must read for inspirational romantic suspense fans. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review.
