"The book's greatest strength is its vibrant, detailed illustrations that feature racially diverse children alongside a host of woodland creatures. The imaginative contraptions the children use, from trapdoors to telescopes, are particularly impressive; making marvelous use of color and light, Mylie has created a stunningly specific world.... An entertaining, immersive read."--Kirkus Reviews

Absolutely wonderful story. Written well, and beautiful illustrations. Each page is very detailed. My child and I look closely when reading this together, and love looking at the pages. Originally borrowed from our public library, but ended up purchasing from loving it.
