Q: Can the drawers be used for storage for other than file folders? What is the weight limit on items sitting on the drawer bottom?

A: Dear Rzwick67, The hanging bar is removable and can be used to place other items. We have not tested the load-bearing capacity of the bottom of the drawer, but if you only place some daily necessities, there should be no problem.
