Q: Assembly seems simple-enough, but the bottom side cross supports that attach to the legs do not fit flush into the grooves as is shown in the item picture above. Is that the way they are designed or do I have a bad batch? Any feedback is appreciated.

The color of the wood is more cherry. They are wider than the chairs we tossed out so we have hit our feet on the one leg about 7 times and it is painful. The price is okay. They are the most cost effective wooden chairs I could find.

We purchased four chairs. We are putting them together, which was a simple-enough process, but the bottom side cross supports that attach to the legs do not appear to be secure. They do not fit flush (see pictures). We have tried to reach the company have cannot get through to them. I am worried that they will not be safe. I will have to return them!

I like them. The finish does have hints of a deep red, so if that's an issue for you, don't purchase. Seem very sturdy after initial construction... all wood screws and bolts, no wood dowels. If you have some "furniture in a box" experience, construction will be very quick and easy. Pre-drilled pilot holes line up well. All pieces marked well. Cordless drill helpful. Seat is padded with black matte vinyl-ish faux leather cover. The back is quite a bit lower than the stools we replaced, which I wasn't sure about at first, but low and behold.... It keeps my teenage son from rocking back on them! Hallelujah! (The lower back prevents the leverage needed to rock back on them). I paid $40 a piece for these after promos and I think that's a steal.

I bought two of these stools for at my kitchen island. The stool is well constructed and a nice design but the color description is misleading. I was expecting a dark brown stool based on the 'Espresso' description, but the wood on the stool is very red. Not a mahogany color red, but a very true red. I had to return the stools because they did not match my home.

What everyone said in the reviews is true, but with that being said, these are adorable little chairs! The instructions are a little confusing, but the chairs are not that hard to put together. They do have a redish hue, if they are in direct sunlight. Mine are not and look exactly like espresso. One leg on each chair is a smidge shorter, but it was easily fixed with a felt chair pad dot. They are sturdy, cute, comfortable and did not take long to put together.

A pain in the tush to put together . - Dowling didn't fit properly - I guess that what you get for buying a cheaper chair .. if they last a years , I'll be happy .... will not buy furniture from Target again. I did like the color . I thought I was purchasing a wood seat as another person , but it is padded.... I guess its okay.

As someone pointed out in another review, the photo is not correct. This chair has a padded seat. This was not a problem for me though. I am hugely impressed with how sturdy the chairs are, and still can't believe how cheap they were. I will be buying 2 more soon!

I ordered the Linon Home Triena stool because the picture showed a chair with a wood seat. However, when the chairs arrived, they had padded seats. I then realized the description says the seats are padded, yet the picture clearly shows a wood seat. When you Google "Triena" stools, it shows an image with a padded seat. It appears this is an inaccurate item issue with this item on Target.com and not a defect of the manufacturer. I am returning these to the store & hope that Target.com is able to correct this discrepancy.

So sure, I didn't look at the reviews before I purchased this product. But the image made the product look dark brown/black, and it's labeled as "espresso." But, in reality, it's red. We bought these to go with a black table, and it just didn't work. Returned. They seem nice if you want a red chair, but otherwise: bummer.

I liked the style of this stool but the stain had red undertones rather than brown so I returned it for Linon Torino Contemporary stool which is actually more dark brown/espresso than black.

This is a nice stool for the money. The color is a little more red than my other expresso furniture, but not objectionable. It was a little tricky to assemble as the crossbars of the legs are tapered and the instructions are not clear. Don't screw the legs in until you are sure you have them turned correctly. The fit isn't perfect, (which explains the need to check first), but not a problem. You also need a screwdriver, not included. It took about 20 minutes to assemble. The stool is sturdy and comfortable.
