Description
The Tripp Lite® by Eaton® TLP128TTUSBB Protect It!® 12-Outlet Surge Protector with 2 USB Ports and 8-Ft. Cord is the ideal surge protector for your home or office workstation. It features a surge protection rating of 4,320 Joules to defend your sensitive electronic components against power surges and spikes. 6 of the outlets are designed for greater flexibility in placing connected devices and can accept bulky transformers without blocking adjacent outlets. 2 USB-A ports are available for charging your smartphone, tablet, and other USB mobile devices. Various electromagnetic and radio sources found in virtually every home and business can cause disruptive interference on the AC line. Known as EMI (electromagnetic interference) and RFI (radio frequency interference), this line noise is a common cause of performance problems. So this surge protector filters out disruptive line noise that can disturb your electronics and inflict hardware damage or data loss. This filtering also helps your connected components perform better with longer lifespans. This surge protector is also an RJ11 and coaxial cable surge protector, allowing connection of telephone, fax, modem, cable television and satellite equipment. Automatic shutoff permanently cuts power to outlets if protection circuit is incapacitated, preventing equipment damage and indicating replacement is required. This surge protector comes with an 8-ft. cord and a right angle NEMA 5-15P plug that lets you place it behind furniture.

Great unit. Slim design and light weight. Having 4320 joules is what sold me. That's outstanding protection at a very reasonable price! As well with two USB ports makes this a winner!
So far so good

Some of the outlets are spaced out so I can fit bigger plugs easily.
Probably the safest surge protector on the market under $50

Got this to protect some sensitive electronics I'd recently purchased, and have no complaints. I especially like how it'll disable itself one it's no longer able to provide protection, since that was a concern I'd had about surge protectors before doing research. It offers plenty of room for various plugs and configurations, though I wish Tripp-Lite offered more models with this level of protection (especially for smaller spaces and with extra USB/USB-C ports) but this works perfectly for most applications.

I use this as the cornerstone of my entertainment setup. I use it to power my TV, PS5, AppleTV, home theater receiver, and cable modem/router. I haven't had to use the insurance yet but I'm glad to know it's there.
Sturdy, versatile, and well priced

Love the indication lights for it being grounded and protected. It's got a ton of sockets, usb ports, and other inputs I'll probably never end up needing, and the price was pretty good. It's worth the peace of mind, as about 50% of my net worth is ultimately plugged into this surge protector in the form of expensive electronics.
Great product for a great price.

This is a great product. I think this is the device you need if you're looking for a surge protector with the highest level of protection (more joules mean more protection), which is what I was looking for when I got it. I'm using it to protect my air handler, which is my heating device (a train heat pump). I am very happy with the price, which is just right, and the shipping was very fast. I don't think I actually need the telephone, modem and coax hookups, but it does have the large amount of Joules I was looking for. The plugs and the size are good. For my purpose, one plug connection is all I need.
I would but this again and I will recommend it to others.

We recently installed new routers and other equipment from our new internet company and they recommended TripLite surge protectors. I love it because you can plug anything into it.
I would buy again !

Use surge protector for my computer and electronic devices. I like the fact that it has wide plug space for those plugs that are wider. I liked it so much I purchased another one identical to it for my Home theater in the living room.

A true space saver as well as a surge protector. All 12 of my electrical plugs could be fitted onto the Tripp. Worth having this.

I've had it less than a month, so I have no idea how it will hold up over time, but it feels solidly built. I mounted it on the underside of my desk, and it has plenty of outlets for my PC, multiple monitors, and my 3D printing setup. Having over 4000 joules of protection may be a bit overkill, but it is great peace of mind. Would definitely recommend!
I would buy it again.

Replaced an old UBS, and decided no longer needed the backup capability, but rather a few more outlets. This item works for my needs and takes up less space. Seems to be quality build. Will recommend to others.
Works.

Good build quality. Receptacles not hard to place plugs in like some reviews I saw. Good receptacle layout. RJ11 protection seems useless today but does not inhibit anything. No surge yet. Hopefully insurance is easy to use in case of failure.
Very poor design

I am not sure if they have an engineer designing these, or a monkey. The outlets in the middle are all entirely too close together for normal plugs to fit, so you're going to be using every other one at best. The outlets on the edges are spaced further apart laterally, but too close to the middle ones, so any big power supply plugged into those will take up at least two from the middle. It is an exercise in trying to organize all the plugs to get them to fit into the receptables, and even then, you're only going to be able to use about 8 of the 12 receptacles. So, this is effectively an 8-outlet surge protector. Why they can't just space the receptacles apart a reasonable distance doesn't make any sense. So many power strips have this problem. There are some newer models from other manufacturers that recognize this and have started making 10 or 12 receptacle designs where you can actually fit everything on them. HOWEVER... you don't get the insurance on those that you do with Tripp Lite. And that is the only reason I went with Tripp Lite. Their designs are terrible, but they're one of the very few with insurance who might actually honor it if you ever need it. It's a dependable, reliable brand that's been around for a while. I recently lost several pieces of equipment from a small lightning related surge, probably just barely enough to damage them. But I had been using an older power strip which may have even not been able to handle the surge. This Tripp Lite has the highest joule rating (which is hopefully not exaggerated like so many other most certainly are) with the most receptacles, so I'm trusting my new equipment with this. Also, they don't tell you the size of screws required to mount it to a wall, but judging by the size of the holes, you can only use a #6 flat head. That's a tiny screw for this big piece of equipment (but there are 4 mounting holes). I'm still trying to figure out how one mounts #6 screws into drywall anchors.

Haven't had a complete power outage yet only a quick fluctuation that caused everything to turn off and back on a 1/2 second later but everything I plugged into the Tripp Lite seems fine and the 'grounded LED is still green so I guess it's a go! Can't really give it 5 stars yet until I see what happens during a full power outage.
