A: After each use your chamois should be thoroughly washed with clean soapy water, rinsed and wrung out repeatedly until clean. A chamois should never be washed with any type of soap not specifically intended for washing a vehicle (use only car wash soap). To dry a chamois, hang it up away from direct sunlight. Never machine wash or tumble dry, store wet in an air-tight bag or put a chamois away wet.

A: The Chamois towel is intended to dry surfaces and would probably not be effective in mopping a tile floor. Towels tend to pick up dirt and other particles that could scratch other surfaces. That said, if you are to use the Chamois for any other surface, you should not use the same cloth on your automobile or other as you could risk scratching that surface. When used properly, a Chamois cloth provides a clear, streak-free dry.
