Q: I don't see anything that secures the top bed from the bottom as far as screws or some type of braket. Is the top bed just balancing with the bottom by weight? What if there's a California Earthquak.

This was the perfect bunk bed for my two kids. It is not too large but spacious enough that it can accommodate the kids and also provide them with enough room throughout the night. The ladder is sturdy enough and the railing on both beds make me feel more secure since they can’t fall out of the bed. I also love the color!

On the weekends hehas sleepovers with his friends or his brother will sleep in his room with him. It was the perfect addition to his room. He previously had a white bunkbed and we absolutely love the gray color, it is more mature and adds a great contrast to his “big boy” room. The bunkbed was fairly easy for my husband and son to put together on their own. My son is 11 years old and it was his first big project with his father. I would highly recommend this bunkbed if you are looking for one that is sturdy, functional and reasonably priced.

Very sturdy, was easy to assemble, but did take as about 3 hours from start to finish and looks great! very happy with this purchase. One note, the gray is somewhat lighter than the photo depicts it. I'd describe it as more of a dark slate blue.

I’m glad I finally found this bed. I feel like I’ve been looking for months if not a year for one that’s decent but not too expensive. I really wanted the blue but it doesn’t ship to my area. We do like the gray - we wanted color not white, black or a wood finish. So far so good, seems sturdy and stable and our old twin mattresses fit so that was a plus. Not sure how long it took my husband to put together but I’d say most of the afternoon. He only needed me to help add the top bunk and mattress. It’s only day one but so far five stars! Thanks Target!
