Twist and Shout Easy Install Curtain Rod - Room Essentials™

Doesn't work.windows. Despite expanding and retightening, troubleshooting, etc. This curtain rod just doesn't work.

I was so excited when I saw this twist tension rod—finally, a hardware-free solution to putting up curtains. Alas, my excitement faded after realizing that twisting the knob at the end did nothing, putting pressure on the left side didn't help the situation, and twisting to lock was a joke (especially when you have curtains ON the rod). Do yourself a favor and purchase the slightly more expensive traditional rod and hardware set, OR opt for the handy dandy command strip curtain rod hangers and a smaller rod. Final statement- the instructions state that two people are recommended for installation.

I love the style and color.

Still need to use screws doesn’t hold enough weight tension isn’t strong enough. Not enough contact point for tension to work

These are awesome! They hold very well and don't leave holes!

I tried installing this but the right knob just keeps spinning and won’t tighten. And the only way to get into the packaging was to totally tear up the packaging, so now I can’t return. I think the packaging was made on purpose that way for this very reason.

All thin plastic and very difficult to adjust the tension and couldn't install by myself. I will go back to my spring loaded metal rods! The longer length rod sags badly, definitely need the support clip. len

Very flimsy if you have a large window.

I've had it for a month and it isn't bad. A good yank on the curtains and it'll definitely come down, but that's true of all tension curtain rods. It has screw holes to more permanently fix it into the wall. Feels cheapish, but it isn't bad.

I bought two rods to avoid making holes in our apartment. Unfortunately, both ended up eventually falling after 4 months of installation and the knob to tighten/loosen broke on both of them.

When this curtain rod actually stayed in our window it was great and looked wonderful. But we got multiple and half of them broke internally somehow so they couldn’t lock and the others consistently fell out of windows over time. I wish this was a better solution for my space

The curtain rod fell once and the locking mechanism inside broke, and it was unable to be put back up. It also left a large dent in our drywall - so not renter friendly at all. A huge waste of money.

This fell while my dog and I were sleeping. It almost hit him and my computer. He was terrified and wouldn’t go back to sleep. No one even touched it, the tension should have held it in place. Since it’s not reliable, it’s not safe to use around kids, animals or anything expensive or fragile. The only reason it didn’t hit my dog was because my desk broke the fall. My dogs are 16lb and 9lb so if it hit one of them they could be seriously hurt.

Love the idea but didn’t work out. Seems like the inner panel needs to be a bit larger to provided the needed security .

Best curtain rod ever made. It’s easy to install, even one person can install it.

So I decided to take a risk on this... despite what other reviews said of this one not working. I got the larger size, and I'm glad I did because my window would have been just too big for the smaller size. There are specific instructions and order of those instructions to make sure that the tension is held between the rods and the wall. My suggestion to make this successful, would be to screw the ball on the right side, the opposite direction of "tighten", until the ball and end piece attached to it are screwed on/ in as much as it allows. Then, follow the instructions on the item itself, twist to unlock/lock while maintaining pressure on the left side of the rod, lock it, and then use the ball on the right end of the rod to tighten it more, securing and adding tension. I found that it feels very sturdy, even if I were to add some different curtains than the ones that I purchased. I loved this so much and I'm glad I gave it a shot!

No clue why people are having issues because tightening instructions are clear and even if you don’t usually read instructions like me, all you do is have to mess with it for a second to figure out how to tighten! I open and close my curtain daily and both sets I have have NEVER fallen. Absolutely love them for my little apartment!

A good idea, but poorly executed. Constantly falling despite how securely I put it up. Not useful if you actually open/close your curtains, would maybe work for someone who doesn’t touch their curtains on a daily basis.

I don’t understand what everyone’s issue is because the rod works great and is holding up my monstera swiss cheese plant just fine even though it has weight to it. There are directions on the rod for extending and tightening it wasn’t difficult.
