A: Yes. I am allergic to dust mites among other things (take two allergy meds daily, have monthly allergy injections) and have been using these allerease pillow protectors for decades. I become congested when sleeping on pillows at other people's houses but not at home.

A pleasant upgrade from the cheaper plastic allerase version which was too hot and nonbreathable. Both may protect the pillow from dander and mite buildup, but this all cotton version is great for summer, doesn't keep in air, and better for my sensitive skin. I do wonder how well it protects the pillow, given its breathability, but that's not something I can assess at this point. Guess I have to trust the manufacturer. No sizing issues for standard (non-European) USA pillows.

Just bought this protector in my local Target store TODAY, took it out of the package and unzipped it to check the inner tag for any specific wash instructions…. Only to find a very questionable (dead) insect of some kind (a louse, maybe?) on the inside care tag. Not sure where or when the little thing may have gotten into the protector, but I absolutely will be returning it and possibly trying a different brand. Even a full wash cycle in hot water can’t cure me of my fresh case of heebie-jeebies.

Very noisy to sleep on. Kinda stiff. I like that it’s cotton, but it’s definitely not something I can use on my pillow. Fine for guests (sorry LOL) or sham pillows. I also like the little hood that covers the zipper when it’s closed all the way. That’s a nice, quality touch!
