Under the Roof Decorating Hang & Level The Picture Hanging Tool

We're sorry to hear that you had some challenges with our Hang & Level™ picture hanging tool, but you are correct in that the purpose of the tool is specifically to mark the spot where the nail goes, in order to have the picture hang in the exact place you are holding it. For large or heavier frames where it may be more difficult to see it on the wall or manage, we recommend getting second person to help. This way they can hold the picture in place with the tool while you step back and take a look at the overall arrangement and make sure that it's to your liking. Then, when it's in the right place, simply press the button to mark the spot on the wall where you need to place your nail or screw to hang the picture back in the same location. We are sorry that our Hang & Level™ picture hanging tool didn't work for you, but we wanted to take the opportunity to clarify that Hang & Level and a laser level do two completely separate things. Hang & Level is design specifically to show you where to put the nail so that a picture will hang in the exact position you want it to be. A laser level will show you when you frames are aligned to each other, but it can't show you where to put the nail so that the frame hangs in that position on the wall. This can be especially tricky if they frames you are hanging use different types of hangers, or if the hangers are not installed in exactly the same position on the frame. In fact, they two products work beautifully together. You can set up the laser level to show you where a level line on the wall is, and then the Hang & Level will show you exactly where to put the nail in the wall for each frame to make sure it hangs on the line - without any calculating, measuring or marking up your walls. Note the bottom two hooks on the Hang & Level™ picture hanging tool were specifically designed to be used with picture wire only, and as a result they don't need to extend as far out as the single hook, which can be used for any type of hanging hardware.
