About the Book

When an unexpected turn of events gives them an opportunity to make peace with the past, they'll have to make it through yet another dangerous situation before the healing can begin.Book Synopsis
Even though Bethanne Hostetler has found some peace seven years after an attempted assault and the accidental death of Peter Miller, she is still haunted by the memory. When her Englisher cousin, Candace--who has just been crowned Miss Crittenden County--reveals that she has a stalker, all of Bethanne's old fears come rushing back.Jay Byler had once been Peter's best friend, and the fact that he did not protect Bethanne that fateful night has haunted him ever since. To make matters worse, she continues to avoid him--even as he continues to love her. Jay can only hope and pray that one day Bethanne will see the person he is today and not the boy he used to be.
As Candace's stalker becomes bolder, Officer Ryan Mulany becomes her escort to various events. He knows he should only think of Candace as a job, but the more time they spend together, the harder it gets to maintain professional distance. And when everyone's worst fears are realized, all four must work together to prevent another tragedy before time runs out and another innocent person is hurt.
From New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray comes this emotionally taut story of learning to forgive, trust, and love despite the pain of the past.

Bethanne Hostetler has lived a difficult life despite her young age. Complicating her trauma is the accidental death that happened to her acquaintance Peter. Her English cousin, Candace, has just been crowned county queen. This initiates a lot of travel. A new officer to town, Ryan, accompanies Candace on her travels to protect Candace. She has had a stalker for some time but hasn’t been completely forthcoming. Both Kandace and Bethanne experience much angst despite their different situations. Life as an Amish young lady or an English young lady is difficult for both with lots of twist and turns. Will Bethanne ever be able to trust again? is Candace safe? Her stalker has been bolder than ever. What will happen to both women? Unforgotten is a wonderful story. It combines the unique perspective of the Amish life, the English life, and a thrilling mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and highly recommend this book. It is a unique plot that is not your average Amish tale.

Unforgotten checks all the boxes and few more: romance, suspense, healing forgiveness and more. The author beautifully addresses the issues and aftermath of assault and PTSD. I like that the story gave the perceptions of an Amish (Bethanne) and English (Candance). The descriptions of each girl’s thoughts and emotions were so vivid and real. Though two totally different people with different backgrounds, the story showed fear, emotional and mental challenges from trauma have a common thread. Bethanne’s courage to choose to move ahead and allow herself to heal showed great strength. I admired her that in a very dangerous moment her loyalty and love for her cousin Candance overcame her own fears. I admit some of the moments were so intense I had to put the book down and take a break but it was an amazing read!

Unforgotten by Shelley Shepard Gray is an emotional tale. The author has a way of telling a story that draws you in. The story revolves around Bethanne, an Amish woman, and her Englisher cousin, Candace. I like that we get to see events from each of their perspectives (Amish and Englisher), especially the Miss Crittenden County pageant. I liked the characters, and I thought the secondary characters added depth to the story. Bethanne’s family was kind, loving, and patient. I felt for Bethanne who had been through something horrific as a teenager. The author captured the emotions of how Bethanne felt at the time of the incident and at the present time. It is not something that will be forgotten, but you learn to deal with what happened. The story has romance mixed with suspense and mystery. It is a realistic story. The second half moves quickly as the tension and fear ramp up. I liked that the conclusion in Unforgotten was not neatly wrapped up with a bow (this was not that type of story). It takes time to recover from an ordeal. Unforgotten can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading Unforgiven first. I like that we get to catch up with characters from Unforgiven. Fear, faith, and forgiveness are three of the themes addressed in this special story. I liked how the author handled difficult and sensitive topics. Unforgotten is a touching tale that will hold your attention until you turn the last page.

Bethanne has found life hard after an attempted assault. She lives with the memory and it fills her mind. Her cousin is running for Miss Crittenden County and has a stalker. Its an amazing Amish suspense that keeps you reading because you have to find out who the culprit is. The characters are great and the storyline is very realistic. It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. And of course there is romance and so it has all the good stuff! Well recommended! I received an ARC copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Shelley Shepard Gray has been one of my go to authors, when it comes to Amish Romance for years. I was excited to find out that she had a new release, Unforgotten, and was determined to get my hands on it. I was far from being disappointed. This story was full of suspense, mystery, action, and faith. I love how the theme shows the power of forgiveness and having second chances. There were a few twists and turns that I did not see coming. I thought it was great. I am giving Unforgotten five stars. I believe readers who love to read clean Amish Romantic fiction with a suspenseful twist will definitely want to read this one. I would love to read more books from the talented Shelley Shepard Gray in the near future. I received a paperback copy of Shelley Shepard Gray's Unforgotten from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
