The rug looks great - there are small areas where there is some purple, pink or blue tones, but it is not obnoxious. It just isn't a pure cream rug. When unrolled, the rug initially had some bumps in the middle but after 1-2 days of being laid out, the rug now lays flat. Definitely a great rug if you're looking for a cotton option! I have not yet gotten a rug pad for it, but it seems fairly thick even without one on hardwoods.
