Our original Dark Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bars were not gluten-free, but we’ve recently updated the recipe to a certified gluten-free version. You can spot the new version by looking for the GFCO logo on the wrapper. We’re currently in a transition period, so you might still see some older bars in stores. To clarify, our Nougat Bars are certified gluten-free by GFCO, ensuring they contain less than 10ppm gluten. While they are made in a facility that handles wheat, the production line is thoroughly cleaned before production per GFCO standards. In response to your feedback, 7 out of 11 UNREAL products are Certified Vegan by the Vegan Action Group with the exception of our milk chocolate gems, milk and dark chocolate pretzels and dark chocolate caramel peanut nougat bars. We’re working towards being as sustainable as possible, however we do use less than 0.5% organic, grass-fed whey to hold the nougat together. It’s a small percentage of dairy, but that does mean this product is not fit for anyone who avoids dairy or is vegan. That being said, we are continuously innovating and would love to make a vegan version someday. We’ll be sure to let you know when that day comes! Until then, all of our dark chocolate cups, almonds, coconut bars and dark chocolate gems are Certified Vegan and have the Certified Vegan logo on the back of our packaging.
