Description
Cardio Strength features 11 synergistic ingredients that are vital for maintaining normal cardiovascular function in aging cats and dogs. This formula is recommended to support animals with pre-existing, sub-optimal cardiovascular functions, breeds that are pre-disposed to cardiovascular stress or, senior pets that are showing signs of cardiovascular weakness. Each ingredient has been researched and chosen for its ability to support cardiovascular health.
L-taurine supports a regular heartbeat, minimizes the loss of potassium and allows for proper electrolyte utilization. The inclusion of potassium is necessary for maintaining electrolyte balance for normal heartbeat and blood pressure levels. DMG (N,N-Dimethylglycine) acts as an antioxidant and supports circulation and immune system health, while CoQ10 supports heart tissue oxygenation and heart muscle strength. L-carnitine supports the use of fat for energy and oxygen utilization while also supporting fat metabolism and helping the body balance triglyceride and cholesterol levels. EPA and GLA (fatty acids) support circulation and blood flow, and ingredients like vitamin E support normal clotting and healthy capillary strength, making Cardio Strength an incredibly comprehensive formula for cardiovascular health.

The second active ingredient is titanium dioxide which has been shown to cause lung cancer in animals. Titanium dioxide is a carcinogen and therefore is banned in the European Union as a food additive. VetriScience adds this carcinogen for color. Is this color additive intended to please me or please my dog? Of course I never gave this product to my dog.

This supplement is great for my senior pet. After two bottles, my pet coughs less at night and seems to be doing better. I should also reorder CoQ10 supplement.

I'm happy my dog is taking this supplement with her food. I don't like the smell of it, but as long as my baby is getting her supplements, I'm very happy. It actually smells like a vitamin I had to take as a child.

Need to wait for Pippin's next visit to the vet. I had read in reviews that dogs won't take the capsules. I just empty half a capsule into my dog's food and mix it in. The contents stink to high heaven - like day old fish in a fish market - but he eats it.

This product was vet recommended. My baby is 12 and had a heart murmur, he had to have an absessed tooth removed, which added trauma to his heart. So far, I believe it has helped, along with prescription meds. We have a cardiologist appt tomorrow. Hopefully, I can post an update

I know there has been some reviews about the size of the pill. But I find it to be a normal size. I put it in my dogs meals without opening it and he eats it. I keep it sealed on top of my counter so I don't forget to give to him and no issue with discoloration. I have been giving it to him for a month now and waiting to see what my vet says about his heart health. Will keep you posted. It seems to be working for him of what I can tell.

I have purchased ~ 6 bottles, but I will not buy again. I would open capsule of cardio strength and put it on my dog's food. At least one third of the pills are a different substance. Some of the pills are a light beige color and others are an orange and clumpy. VetriScience assured me that this does not affect the benefit to the dog. They shipped a bottle (free of charge) directly to me (no 3rd company warehouse) but the quality was not much different. I think they need to place more than 1 silica gel packet in the bottle.

After my young cat was identified as having heart disease, I decided to try a more natural approach instead of giving him the strong medication his pet cardiologist wanted to prescribe. It's now several years later, and although my cat still has a mild heart murmur, his heart is no longer enlarged or thickened. This has kept him healthy and alive! His vet was happy but somewhat confused. I'm not! One capsule a day, emptied into a little baby food is all I do.

Great product. Noticed an improvement in my dog's behavior - she has a heart murmur & was becoming lethargic, but after taking this supplement for a couple weeks her activity level has markedly increased. It'll be interesting to see what the vet says at her next checkup. The capsules are large however and may be tough to administer to small dogs (my dog won't eat the powder sprinkled on her food). I wish they would make an option for capsules 1/2 the size with double the quantity.

My dog was diagnosed with mitral valve regurgitation and a grade five murmur in January of 2018. I started this product immediately along with a few others. She has ultrasounds every six months and the last thing I heard from her cardiologist was that he really sees dogs with this little progression. This is a great product!
