Q: Can I use this twice a day?
A: Hello Cheryl, Thank you for your interest in CeraVe SA Face Wash Salicylic Acid Cleanser with Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide 8fl oz. This cleanser is suitable for all skin types, and we recommend using twice a day for best results. This cleanser can help exfoliate and smooth your skin while also effectively removing oil and dirt, sweeping away dead cells, and softening rough skin—without leaving skin feeling dry. We hope this information has been helpful and that you can use our products with great success!
submitted byCerave Product Expert - 1 year agoBrand expertA: Hi! The answer is yes, you can use this twice a day, but some people’s skin finds salicylic acid a bit harsh, so make sure to only use it in moderation and not scrub to hard, because rot does act as an exfoliate as well.
submitted bytrufflefluffle44 - 8 months agoA: Hey Cheryl, Great question! Yes you can! However, if you have sensitive skin, we recommend to use 2-3x a week first to ease into your skincare routine. Q: How much Salicylic Acid does this contain? Label should show %, usually 1% or 2%. This is important to me. Thanks.
A: This is the info from CeraVe - "This product is a facial cleanser which contains 2% salicylic acid; it is comparable to other over-the-counter anti-acne face washes, though this product does not specifically claim to be anti-acne."
submitted byTricia - 5 years agoA: The reason the label doesn't show how much Salicylic Acid this contains is because 1) the ingredient is pretty far down the list, meaning it only contains a small, insubstantial amount (probably less than 1%) and 2) Salicylic Acid is better as a leave-on exfoliant. In a cleanser, it is rinsed off before it can begin to work, and in this case, the pH is outside the ideal range to be effective. This is a good cleanser, especially for oily skin, but not for exfoliating purposes or for anyone looking for the benefits of salicylic acid. You'll need to buy a separate product for that.

submitted byTarget Beauty Consulting - 6 months agoBrand expertA: Hello there! SA Face Wash is generally suitable for normal to oily, acne-prone, and sensitive skin types. However, individual reactions can vary, so it’s always best to test a small area first. If you have very dry or sensitive skin, you may find that the salicylic acid in this cleanser is too drying. In this case, you might consider a gentler cleanser like the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser. While CeraVe products are generally well-tolerated, it's always a good idea to consult with a dermatologist for personalized recommendations tailored to your skin type and concerns.

Q: I have very sensitive skin, and an oily t-spot. Would this be a good facial wash to try? I've tried the CeraVe foaming facial wash, but it only made my skin burn with no results.
A: Hey friend I have lived this. There is a good chance your natural skin barrier needs to heal before you use these kinds of products. Try the moisturizing wash and the moisturizing cream for two months and a good sensitive spf. Give your skin a chance to heal and rebuild the barrier. Your skin will rebalance and then you can lean into more "harsh" products. This is what I was told to do from a dear friend who is an esthetician. Seriously saved my skin. Such a huge difference! Good luck!
