Q: I don't understand why the manufacturer of this product would add hydrogenated oil to what would otherwise be a healthy product. The body can't break down hydrogenated oil and it can accumulate in the arteries.

A: Fully hydrogenated coconut oil contains saturated fats... perhaps something else should be use to keep the product soft.

In our formulations, we only use “fully hydrogenated” coconut oil. Fully hydrogenated oils contain very low levels of trans fat and do not have the same health risks that are associated with “partially hydrogenated” oil, which can contain high levels of trans fat. The hydrogenated coconut oil is used to help keep the texture soft and easy to chew.

I usually get the caramel, but they were out of stock. The chocolate is okay, but I like the caramel more. The product itself is great. I used to take a liquid calcium supplement, but jt is more convenient and like candy.

These taste like a tootsie roll or kind of like a chocolate shake. I was instructed to take these due to my birth control that I take every 3 months as it causes bones to become more fragile. I really like these actually. I recommend. Just make sure to keep the lid on it. I personally leave the tamper evident packaging on it under the lid to keep them from drying out. They do dry out easily with heat or no lid, so be warned.
