Q&A(9)

Q: Is it safe for pets to be in the same room when this is being used in a vaporizer, or should they be kept away?

submitted by DB - 5 months ago
  • A: Eucalyptus oil is highly toxic to dogs and cats and should never be used on them. Toxicity: Eucalyptus oil contains a compound called eucalyptol, which can cause severe respiratory irritation, seizures, and even death in dogs. Droplets of this in the air effectively attach to pet fur and potentially ingested by grooming. Even small amounts of eucalyptus oil can be toxic, especially when ingested or applied directly to the skin.

Q: Can I add this to my Vicks cool mist humidifier?

submitted by JBG - 5 years ago
  • A: Thank you for checking with us first. You cannot use VapoSteam with a cool mist humidifier, as it requires steam to release the medication, and only warm mist humidifiers and vaporizers produce steam.
