This was my first watercolor pad, instructions and paper included. After trying this one I tried all others because I finished it and wanted more. This one has the best watercolor paper and it also has really good written instructions compared to the rest. I suggest you use a clipboard to hold it down but that is the case with the rest too. I like that she gives you instruction on one method but teaches you other methods for any of her drawings. I had to use my logic when it came to achieving her example’s colors. After all, I bet she did her examples on professional watercolor paper. I am sure the printers make the examples and colors look different than the original painting. I would say this is a great adult beginners book. Others I found are either childish drawings with horrible paper and pretty good instructions or horrible paper, great sketches and poor instructions. I started tracing the other book’s drawings on proper watercolor paper and following the instructions that way or using other books instructions to fill them in. Lots of these books have the same objects, a robin for example or and elephant is a popular subject for many books. I am glad I started with her book and highly recommended it.
