I like this game because it has a wooden board game and wooden pieces. The pieces feel good and they are sturdy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't played checkers in years, and when I was a kid we had the classic cardboard board with the thick plastic pieces I think everybody remembers. I was really excited to try an upgraded wooden version of the game, being an adult and having children of my own now. I was nothing short of impressed! The board is very thick and high quality wood with beautifully painted design work. My only negative comments are regarding the actual checkers themselves. I'm not really a fan of how they stack on top of each other (when kinged). They don't lock together quite enough and slip around. However, that could be due to the fact of my next critique though; the checkers are very slippery! They slide on the board and when you move them they sometimes go out of control. Perhaps because they are polished? In time once they are more broken in, this might go away? Overall, this set is amazing quality and gorgeous. I highly recommend. Top shelf.

The kids always had the cardboard and plastic chips so they thought this game was really cool. It looks and feels like a quality product that will last for many years. I highly recommend this game!

It is so much nicer than a regular checkers set very straight to okay just like other sets even though it is not black and red all around. My little one has loved learning the game in this set and I for one am super excited that he loves to play and that now I have someone to play against! I also love the little bag that it comes with in order to store all the checker pieces, that is something that is definitely super handy when my little one decides he is keeping the game in his room. If you are looking for a new checkers game or looking to buy someone a new boardgame, look no further this is the one you want! You will not be disappointed.

There's just something super refreshing about playing a laid back game of Checkers on a lazy Sunday afternoon sitting on the porch with a friend or family member. My teenage son and I did just that this past weekend and it really was a great time for the two of us to connect, relax, catch each other up on "what's happening" while also indulging in a classic game that's no-fuss.
