Description

This nostalgic wooden game first became popular in the USA in the 1940's and has been engaging game lovers ever since. Manipulate the metal rods to project the metal ball up the slope towards you to drop it into Pluto. Open the rods too much, and the ball will drop too soon into Mercury, Earth, Mars, Jupiter or Saturn earning the player less points. It's an incredibly addictive game that will have the whole family shooting the metal ball down the rails and shooting for the moon! Seems simple enough right? See for yourself why people go crazy for this game. Looks great on coffee tables or an office desk, adding a stylish flare to any space. The board is made of solid Malaysian Oak wood in its natural color with a glossy finish. Game board is screen printed. The planet wells are lined with felt for softer landings. Some assembly is required.

So simple yet so hard!

Let me tell you about this game. Looks simple right? Hold up. This game is HARD. And ADDICTING. Like you just can’t imagine that you can’t get this ball to Pluto! I’ve gotten it to Jupiter. You just feel like you have to keep playing to try & get it to the last slot! My kid, in the video was so excited to finally get to Mars. I ended up putting this game right on our bar as I feel it will be hilarious to watch tipsy people try & conquer this as well. The game itself is well constructed with solid wood & felt pads in the holes. Super easy set up & once it’s set up you’re done. Thank you so much for this addicting game! I received a free game in exchange for an honest review*

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love this game way more than we thought! We've spent so many hours competing just the fiancé and I. We've also found it's a great game to have out with company over as everyone shows interest in it and it's quickly addicted as well. This is just a great game for all ages. It's also extremely easy to assemble.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had never played shoot the moon. I was pleasantly surprised at how fun it was and how addicting it is to get all of the planets in a row. I was sad that my game did not include "the moon" as an option like the original game. Other than that this skill game was fun to play.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a super fun game to just put out on the coffee table. Adults cannot keep their hands off of it. It is quick and easy to play, and easy to just leave to move on to the next activity. The guys especially were challenged with the game and kept at it all evening

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My grandson and I tried the game over and over again. We struggled trying to get the ball past the negative and the next whole. My husband then sat in to play and it was a companion to see who could go further, of course after about 5 minutes of play my husband figured it out and got all the way to the end. My grandson and I still can not figure it out but we will keep trying. This game was fun and frustrating and very competitive. I would buy this game and I would recommend it to friends and family. It is a nice game because you have everyone around the table trying to make it to the end.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game is awesome! When we first pulled it out of the box, we were skeptical, however, we were soon drawn in to proving who had more skill than the other. It's deceptively difficult to get to the moon! Add a few adult beverages (though not required) and it's even more fun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 2 kids (13 and 15) loved this! Both wanted to beat the game and challenged each other. Loved that it wasn't some electronic thing and just a good old fashioned wooden game. Super sturdy. It took them a little while to figure it out. Since we've received it, I've just left it out on a table and I find them walking by and playing with it still. It's just a fun and different thing to fiddle with on your own. It's not long term entertainment but I'll take it over video games and their phones any day! Thumbs up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Shoot The Moon Classic 1940's Nostalgia Game is so much fun. It was super easy to assemble, and had everything that I needed, minus the screwdriver. I wish that the box was able to be used, once it was assembled, to be able to store it better. The game was a lot of fun. Getting the hang of balancing, and trying to get the ball where you want it to go was challenging. I got it to Mars, and my husband made it to Jupiter! So much fun, and could be definitely used for a points competition with many different players. I would definitely recommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first opened the game, it seemed familiar to me. I tried playing it and wasn't very successful, but kept trying and managed to get the ball rolling and advanced a little. With practice, I might get a little better. I think this game will be a great one to take to our church game night ! It will bring out those really competitive people (men) and be a lot of fun ! It's very sturdy and well made and should withstand any abuse. lol I would recommend this game for others and think my kids and grandkids will enjoy it too. It might even get them away from their phones and computer games for a little while.
