We Go High is a phenomenal and necessary book. It describes the lives of 30 women who are leaders in the fields of culture, politics, STEM and business, activism and social justice, film and television, sports, journalism, food and drink. Some of the women I already knew about, for example Michelle Obama and Malala Yousafzai. Others were new to me, for example Arundhati Bhattacharya and Angelica Ross. I learned something about even the women of whom I was already aware. The accomplishments and challenges of each woman are discussed. Each has paved the way for others to follow. This book is beautifully presented using a combination of text, photography and colorful artwork. It comes at a time when women, especially women of color, are under attack. We Go High is a book that educates both young people and adults and should be in every school and public library. It is also a pleasure to read.
