This book is a treasure in our home. When my youngest (now 4) was tiny this book was his favorite, we read it at least once every day. I knew the story by heart and would recite it to him at nap time. He has had a bit of a speech delay, and was really shy about talking, but he was so excited about the pictures of the mom and baby, or dad and baby trucks that he would tell his own little stories about what they were doing. This book and others like it have helped us to come a long way in his language. This book is colorful and theres so much to look at in the pictures, every child I've read it to sees something different. It really brings out the love of stories in kids. We still read this book , and have added others of this collection to our library. It's definatly a win for any child who likes trucks.

My four-year-old and I love this book. The story is great and the illustrations are charming. Many of the pictures of the cartoon digger and his or her child digger have an old fashioned, americana feel that is as rewarding to the parent as much as a child. highly recommend! :)
