It's how he wins gold medals and breaks records: complete focus, with every stroke. On the surface, Lukas and Scarlett have nothing in common. Until a well-guarded secret slips out, and everything changes. So they start an arrangement. And as the pressure leading to the Olympics heats up, so does their relationship. I ordered this book based on the sprayed edges and being special edition. I did not receive what was pictured. The book was basic. No special options. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to seeing the fun book. I can't speak to the writing though since I haven't read it yet.

Can’t speak to the quality of the writing as I have not read it yet, but the description says, (and the photo shows) it as the sprayed edges version. It is not. And that is maybe being incredibly nit picky, but it is not the item I expected or paid for and feels like a bait and switch.

Sooo let me start off with I bought this mainly because of sprayed edges and the author. I also read this as a sort of buffer/recovery book after Onyx Storm. Reading the book I knew nothing about it aside from the title and that I’ve had a love/hate with Ali’s books. I dnfed check and mate - super cringe. But did like a good amount of things in love hypothesis, love theoretically, and bride. I will say it was an improvement in descriptions from when she called people big as a tree. I’m big on college sports romances so in that vein I really liked this book. As per usual her mmc is fairly unrealistic but oh so desirable 👀 I will say since it’s in the disclaimer I expected much more hardcore kinky stuff, but it didn’t bother me or feel very kinky. It was a spicy book but her others were as well, I’d compare it to icebreaker in that respect. Writing style wise pretty similar to her usual, but it was hard to follow toward the end especially with the dialogue was a little under tagged and clunky. Overall good read although I wasn’t a big fan of the final plot twist the main ship was cute enough together I would read again.
