Q: Can the shelves be stacked as separate units with 3 shelves in each unit. I want to put a 3 shelf unit on each side of the fireplace.

Q: How are these shelves assembled? Do they have to be mounted on the wall, or can they be safely stacked without mounting?

A: Hello! The shelves are nailed together to create each individual shelf, the overall shelf comes with anti-tip over restraint if you want to secure it but it's not required you mount each shelf against your wall. Thank you.

Q: Is this gray, I have ordered 2 other bookcases that state they are gray, when I receive it is in fact brown, not gray.

Q: Would it be possible to leave one cube out of final product? For example, leave the top small square shelf off? I have a wall that I would like to put the bookshelf but it just a few inches too wide due to a lighting wall sconce.

Q: I have many books that are 12 inches tall.....in order to stand them up on the shelf, I need to know the height of the shelf. Is the 11.75 the height of each shelf?
