Description
This Jumbo Color Display Weather Station uses patented Self-Calibrating Technology to provide your personal forecast of 12 to 24 hour weather conditions. The illuminated, extra-large color LCD screen includes indoor/outdoor temperature with daily high/low readings, and a self-setting atomic clock and calendar with automatic adjustment for Daylight Saving Time. Display stands upright for tabletop use or is wall-mountable. The outdoor sensor updates data every 16 seconds via powerful wireless technology with a range up to 330 feet. It has a weather-resistant design with an integrated hanger for easy mounting. Indoor base station operates on the included AC adapter with three AA battery backup. Outdoor sensor requires two AA batteries. No batteries included.

I like the color model even though you need to have it at the correct viewing angle but after a while the temperature display refuses to come on and you sometimes can press the reset but it doesn't always work and I have of course changed the batteries in both the display and the sending unit. The main reason I bought this was for the temperature display. now it's in the garbage so buyer beware while a nice display when working in the end it wasn't dependable.
Would buy again.

My previous weather station was black and white and was legible day and night; as soon as I opened my eyes in the morning it showed me the temperature. The new color station is so bright that it has to be turned off at night, which makes this check impossible. Is there any way of making it too useable for 24 hours a day?

This weather station’s color display features three different lighting settings: High (100%) brightness, Medium (60%) brightness and Low (15%) brightness.
When the display is powered with the power adapter (recommended), the backlight remains on at 100% brightness by default. Adjust the backlight brightness by pressing and releasing the “+” or “-” buttons.
Using battery power alone, the backlight is available momentarily for 10 seconds by pressing and releasing the “+” or “-” buttons.

I have given this product a 3 star rating because: I was replacing a non-color Acurite atomic wall clock that was mounted 2 feet above my eye height. The display was easily seen at that angle. With this model, mounted using the same nail in the wall, I could not read the display as you have to look almost straight onto it otherwise you don't see the data. Sad!!
