Q: I've had this piece for a few years. It's held up good for the price. But now I'm interested in changing the color. Any ideas if this can be refinished or painted... ideally without stripping?

We bought it to match a small matching cabinet from our bedroom. The color of the new buffet are a lot darker now than the small cabinet. Otherwise it’s a quality cabinet that assembled quite easily and looks very nice!

I bought this cabinet/buffet in 2016 and it’s held up really well. Threw multiple moves too. I’ve been very happy with it. I don’t remember assembly because my husband put it together but everything has been great with it. I would buy it again.

It is so cute and the color is perfect! I have the matching cabinet. Putting it together was a trail. It took a long time. I put the drawer sides on backward to start and just had to redo it. It is so cute though I love the color

So I bought this knowing the reviews of the assembly and some of the pieces being off. My husband is pretty crafty so I wasn’t worried! It wasn’t hard it’s just a lot of pieces and you have to stay organized. We also used wood glue to keep everything in place and I highly suggest that. I gave 4 stars because one side of the cabinets from the inside had a crack but I think it’s more the handling of the box than anything because the box was dinged up. Honestly it’s a unique piece and that’s why I went with it!!! Make sure to have patience and time and also two people!! I also suggest having a utility cart for pieces.

The cabinet is a beautiful color but if you are sensitive to smells the off-gassing has been terrible. We've had the cabinet for months and I can still smell it.

Im so surprised that other people have had such issues putting this thing together. It took me about 1.5 hours, by myself, with 3 stitches in my hand, but it was not my first piece from this collection that Ive assembled. No problem getting the doors on straight, I followed the directions which were very clear. There are no guide holes on the back where you put the screws through the backing piece, but I assumed that was going back to the step where you align the doors. Plus, this wood is so soft you don't need guide holes. I did tap the screw just a tad with a hammer and it was no problem getting them in after that. It's really not all that bad from what people were saying. My drawer slides were not upside down. **For parents that need child locks** I tried installing child locks on this to keep my toddler out of the glass door area, attempting to protect our DVD's. Due to the shape of the doors and the relation to the drawer in the top, there is no way to install your classic child safety lock, you know the kid that you push down on the top of and it releases from a catch? Yeah those don't work on this.

This is a nice piece of furniture when you finally get it together. It isn't complicated if you make sure to get the back on straight. THE DRAWER THOUGH. The guides on the drawer itself come pre-installed BACKWARDS. Make sure to turn them around before trying to put the drawer into the cabinet. I've attached a picture for reference of the correct orientation. It fits easily after the rails are turned around but it was very frustrating to figure out while trying to build this with 5 kids.
It does the job for the money until you want/can afford to buy something better.

It works for its intended purpose. The piece was a little tedious to assemble, but most particle board furniture is. Up close it looks cheap. Box was damaged delivered to the Target store, but nothing was broken inside. Might have caused some slight scratching/indentations that didn't break paint. There were some marks where they were drilling holes and realized they were missing the mark and adjusted. Not noticeable on the finished product The back panel (a cheap painted fiberboard less than 1/8" thick) had the holes punched out for the screws. Though only 2 were predrilled holes (much better than none) in the back of the unit that you could line up to. The rest of the holes you had to line up and hope you don't get too close to the edge as it is would push out and break off. This is about the quality of partical board bookcases. The cabinet doors hanged low on both side and while I got them to align initially they are not anymore. One suggestion, adjust the feet and get the unit level before placing the doors and drawer inside so it is not as heavy and the drawer doesn't side around.
Doors unaligned! Need to return and get refund ASAP

Spent over 5 hours building this and in the last few steps my husband and I spent over 2 hours trying to get the doors to line up. The holes were drilled by the manufacturer a bit lower on the left side so the doors do not align and we just wasted so much time on this. How do we return it now that it’s built and get our refund? So frustrated with this product.

This is a beautiful piece. It went together very easily. The only complaint I have is that the back stoppers on the draw stop the draw before it’s all the way closed. I can push on it to close it but went I go to open it, it is stuck.

I received 2 right side panels on accident which the company shipped the correct piece to me right away, there were only 2 holes in the back when there should have been like 16, once I got it all put together, the hinge on the drawer was put in backwards at the factory and the drawer won’t close so still waiting on totally finishing it. Many of the screws are stripped from the factory also.

Chunk out of the top piece directly infront. I of course didn’t see it until it was half way put together. It is impossible to have the two door line up. Took forever to put together and it looks like a total mess! So disappointed!!

The cabinet looks nice. Bigger than I thought it would be. Had a couple issues with it. There was a chunk taken out of the back , at least you can't see it because it is on the back. The drawer slides were put on backwards , so My husband and had to take them off and flip them. Once put together, the drawer does not close all the way and you have to lift it a little when you want to close the doors because it does not fit properly. There are alot of pieces especially screws. Use a power drill or have someone help you or you are going to kill your hand. A little disappointed in this cabinet.
