Women's Tank Mini Shift Dress - A New Day™

This dress would be perfect if 1. it had a zipper to help you get it on; 2. if it were not super boxy in every way; 3. and if they made an extra extra small (XXS) because I absolutely would have size down as the rest of the review, suggest, but as someone who usually decides to at 53 and 125 pounds, I couldn’t go any smaller than my usual XS. But mostly, I’m annoyed that it’s straight up and down, as if it’s designed to be worn by a refrigerator and not a human woman. Yes, I understand it’s a shift dress and I understand it’s not supposed to be form fitting, but just a tiny nip at the waist would have done wonders, especially because the pockets, which are very nice, make it awkward to belt, so you can’t even do that. But otherwise, it is very cute, I think the square neck is flattering, and at my height the mini length is still absolutely office appropriate as it hits about 2 inches above the knee. I included a close up picture of the pattern because I was confused as to why it was listed as green stripe and not just green. The stripe is very subtle. Ultimately, I kept it, because I got it for $14, but it could’ve been so much better. At least it will be nice for very hot days when I don’t want fabric, touching my body.

Best dress great fabric. Too big so size down

I sized down to an XS and ordered two different colors. The black, and gingham. While they both fit the gingham was larger and longer. The black fit perfectly except it was too short in the back(I’m 5’7). The gingham was slightly larger through the body but was a perfect length. It’s a bummer because I would keep the black if it weren’t too short. Disappointing the dresses are both XS but there is a big difference in sizing.

Sizing is a bit off but love the dress

Im 35 chest, 28 waist, 39 hips and tried both sizes S and XS and both didnt look right on me. The SX was too tight around the hips and the Small was way too lose everywhere, was really hoping this dress would fit me right but it didnt :(

I liked everything about this dress except that it wound up being too short. I’m only 5’4.” I purchased the cream with black flowers and sized down one size to a small. It is lined and has pockets that lay nice and flat on the inside! I like the shape of the dress for my 38D chest. If I sized up for length I believe it would just get wider and not longer.

I wanted to love this dress. But it’s just too baggy and sloppy for a thin frame. Even the XS was too big for me, and I am usually a size 2. If they had an XXS, or quit with the vanity sizing, it would be perfect!

I suggest sizing down because I noticed that it runs big. The square neck is super flattering for bigger chests. It definitely has the boxy look if that’s what you’re going for. One of my favorite dresses now. I ordered size S, I’m 5’1, curvy, and jump in between 4/6/8 depending on the stretch of the fabric. This one is slightly stretchy but stiff enough to feel support

Absolutely darling. Sizing is just right, fabric is not too thick or too thin, pockets are great. The only thing that could make this dress better is if the length of the straps was adjustable, but that's a minor comment.

5'2" and typically a 6/8. Got a Small, and the fit is AMAZING.

Such a cute dress!!! I got the linen color one with flower sketches. Cannot wait to wear it this summer! It fits well although I read reviews and got an XS normally I would wear a S. I can see this being too boxy if you don’t size down. Material does not stretch so it won’t fit certain shapes either.

The white dress is a nice quality fabric and lined so it’s not see-through. Subtle floral design is pretty. I wish it had a zipper to make it easier to put on.

Very flattering on all body types. True to size. Do not size down. I am a 12-14 and XL is perfect. It's lined. A great length. Not too short. Pockets are always a plus.

I really love the cut and material of these dresses. They’re prefect for spring and summer and I can dress them up or down. Im only 5’4 so it’s a bit longer, but still cute. I got the blue stripe and gingham and I hope to get the green if it ever comes back in stock!

I’m surprised this one was so divisive in the reviews! While I agree the neckline is pretty squared, I find it’s still flattering in spite of my larger chest. Dress pockets can be problematic for my curvy hips but these lay really nicely on me. As for sizing, I think Target’s in-house lines vary wildly in terms of size fidelity, but in my experience, this fit true to size for dresses I’ve bought from this brand.

I bought three dresses from Target and this one smelled very bad. It is boxy....loose on top and tight around the butt. The shape is really off like the other New Day dresses I bought.

The fitting is so off. Very boxy and runs big. I'm usually size M but I got S on this dress yet it's still big.
