The headboard is NOT 100% solid wood. The backing behind the cane is some type of particle board/mdf covered with a very thin strip of wood. At first glance, it appears like wood, but you can see the particle board in some places around the edges of the caning where it isn’t covered by a wood veneer. There is also an adhesive used to glue the cane to the backing. All of the cane panels smell strongly like melted crayons. The headboard also never came with the pieces to attach it to the bed frame and was missing assembly instructions. The veneer is a bit cheap looking and is darker than pictured. You get what you pay for. I would not recommend.

Do not buy this headboard. It deserves zero stars. I'm a very handy person and I make furniture. If you're able to attach this to an actual bedframe you've completed an engineering miracle. When you put this together everything is misaligned so the base that attached to the bed frame is not aligned with the panel of the headboard. None of the bolt holes on the posts align with the panel or with a standard metal bed frame. Anyone that gave this above 1 star has to be a fake review or was paid by Target. This headboard should not be available for sale in its current state. Don't waste your time buying this and attempting to assemble.

This headboard arrived and was not what I was expecting in terms of quality or appearance. The color is also significantly different from the images. It’s much more yellow, making it difficult to add color to your space. I really wish I had returned this item. Every time I walk into the room I sigh with regret.

Very pretty and the form is just what I wanted. Huge mar on one of the legs about midway up and another one on the lower leg, see pictures (though they don't do it justice). In person it is extremely obvious and draws the eye right to it. This leg should never have left the factory. I like the overall look of this headboard, but if this shows by the time all is said and done they are getting it back. I didn't expect high quality materials for this price. However, I do expect some degree of quality control and for obviously badly manufactured components to be removed prior to packaging. There is no option for attaining a new piece beyond full return and replacement. With this level of quality, what will I get next time? It may be worse. Should I cut my losses or take my chances? I don't think it's fair to expect customers to make this choice because you don't enforce good quality control in the manufacture of your products. It gauls me to accept less than perfect for my money. This is going to be a bear to pack back up. Yet, I'm irritated that I have to try to "make it work" when I paid for a brand new, flawless piece. So, I'm still thinking about it.

Bought this for my guest bedroom and while it fits the look of what I wanted that's where it stops. Everyone who has slept in that room has complained about squeaking which makes sense considering it's attached to the metal bed frame is loose at best. Nothing to be done as it's just the way the headboard was designed. Would not recommend it.

This is beautiful. I purch. the natural. I wanted a natural spa vibe and it fit the ticket. Super easy to attch sturdy side poles to frame, but may need adapters, our frame is weird anyway so we already had them. The quality is spot on for price point. Can be painted any color and the cane was perfect. Can also be wall attached. Not super heavy, even for King Size, I lifted and attached by myself. Very happy buyer!

Pains me to say it because I love Hearth and Hand, but do not recommend this. Holes do not line up with standard metal bed frame. We had to get a board and drill our own holes, then attach this to that board.

Mounted to wall to make it taller and take up more wall space plus slit flush with the wall. You can’t see that the legs are off the ground or that it’s not mounted to the bed frame. I didn’t love that pillows covered the full headboard when used as intended and wanted it to take up more wall space. Love the color in person.. much more natural. Using for a cali king bed too and it’s working great! Cali king fits inside the post perfectly. Will add a bed skirt eventually. Just received so can’t speak to longevity.

It doesn’t come with instructions! You need to call target, wait 20 minutes to be connected then you need to figure out what manufacturer made the item and ask them for directions. That makes no sense.

Great headboard but didn’t come with screws to attach to my frame. Tried to get the screws but Target they will only initiate a return. Why would I go to the trouble or returning it when I want it, I just want hardware to complete my installation. Will have to head to the hardware store tomorrow.
