Introduced in 1986 a consistent best seller. Only from Woodstock! Recommended for its educational value by John Sebastian Marilyn Horne Andre Watts Peter Shickele and the late Jim Henson. Tuned to C Major the Chimalong can be played by number color or notes. A xylophone-style instrument made with world famous Woodstock Chimes tubes the Chimalong comes with an extra #7 tube which changes the B (for key of C) to B flat (for key of F) giving greater musical flexibility. Also comes with two mallets & color coded songbook. The Chimalong is a multi award winner: Parents Choice Classic Award and Oppenheim Award Winner. In 1979 Grammy Award-winning musician and instrument designer Garry Kvistad created the first Woodstock Chime from an aluminum lawn chair he found in a landfill. Fascinated by the Scale of Olympos a 7th century pentatonic scale that can’t be played on a modern piano Garry cut and tuned the lawn chair tubes to the exact frequency of the ancient scale. The resulting Chimes of Olympos was the first Woodstock Chime and is still one of our best selling musically-tuned windchimes.
