Hello Valued Customer! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and review. It is unfortunate to learn that the Command Feed System in your WG170 20V GT Revolution Trimmer has not worked properly. Please be aware that you can reset the auto feed system by pressing the small square reset button on the bottom of the trimmer. It is located below the eyelet where your line feeds out on the trimmer head. If you press that button 3 times, the auto feed system will reset, and the line will come out properly. You can then power on the trimmer and use the Command Feed button while the motor is running to feed line. Thank you for choosing WORX!

I love the easy conversion from weed-eating to roll-along edging. The length and handle adjustments really help me avoid strain and fatigue. Battery life is still great - I can edge the whole yard and more on a single charge.

I got a Worx string trimmer to do edging and keeping the weeds down in the forested part of my back yard. I was amazed when I was able to edge our long driveway and sidewalks and then worked in my back forest until I was out of energy, but the Worx wasn’t. The battery lasted far longer than I expected. Its light weight is a huge plus for me. I have some steep hills and was able to easily tote it up and down. I love the easy adjustments for the different ways I use it in my yard.

WG170.3 I bought this unit a few weeks ago as a replacement for my previous Worx edger/trimmer of almost 8 years ago. I received my new trimmer, put it together, charged the battery overnight ... and am very pleased with what I bought. The one battery is able to complete the trimming and edging on its own, whereas I used to have to use both batteries to accomplish the same thing with the older product. The remote cord feed makes the unit so much easier to use. Being six feet tall, the longer shaft does indeed help me stand straighter and be more relaxed while using the unit. The deck cuts a wider swath, making for faster work. Lastly, the battery power indicator helps determine how much more work can be done before the battery needs to be recharged. I feel the adjustment on the auxiliary handle was easier to use when integrated in the handle, rather than as a button on the side, it now requires 2 hands to adjust the handle instead of just one. There is no lineup marking on the cover when in edging mode, to know where the cord is actually cutting, like on the older model So ... overall ... very positive experience and glad I have the new machine. I hope to get 10 years or more out of it. David, Long Island, NY

Every time When I trim I spend half the time trying to get the spool to work correctly. The string stops coming out and it sticks inside the reel with the rest of the string and you have to take cutters to get it loose and re-string. Every reel I have had so far does the same thing. Not at all pleased with the unit.

Based on your description you may need a new pack of spools as the spools are biodegradable which means based on atmosphere the spools will become brittle and break or mold together. Purchased this trimmer 2 years ago. Have used nothing but Worx spools and have had some problems with the spool not feeding (since new) and with the last spool, it somehow wound itself between the motor and the mechanism. I am now in the process of taking it apart completely and taking little bits of line out and hoping it works again. If I had used some sort of cheaper knock-off line and threaded it myself, I could understand it, but this was a Worx-branded spool.

Based on your description you may need new spools as the spools are biodegradable and when the spools have gone bad they will either mold together or become brittle and break both making it difficult to feed out. Their trimmers are ergonomically designed for your body. I have use EGO and it was just too heavy. Then I upgraded my old trimmer last month and it is even better than ever. My yard is edged exceptionally well that I brag to myself of how nice it looks. Please purchase the 20V 4amp because it will edge and trim without needing to recharge. If you want a trimmer and edger to last for at least 5 years, purchase a Worx because it works! I will be a Worx's customer for life. Thank you for creating a high performance product.

Even though I read the manual cover to cover it still took a minute to learn how to turn the trimmer 90 degrees. My only complaint and reason for 4 of 5 stars is the telescoping handle WILL slide down on uneven ground no matter how tight you lock it. Also your hand will hurt from pressing the release button and trigger over an extended time. Besides that I'm extremely pleased with the tool.

I bought this 3 weeks ago and it is so awkward to use for edging along the sidewalk and I live on the corner and have a lot to edge. My hand hurts when I am done. Was thinking of returning it for this reason.

This is actually the second one we have owned. We originally bought one a few years ago and then sold it before we had a cross country move. I didn't think I would have a yard to maintain after the move. Once I realized I needed a new one, no doubt I was getting this product again. Moving in here I had some major catching up to do for edging and the weeds. First time through and I barely made it with both batteries (there was a lot!). Now it takes me about 15 - 20 min tops and get everything looking nice. The edging does take some getting use to but I could not believe how well it worked to cut away years of over growth on the sidewalks. Best part is, my wife like to pick it up and do some as well. It is so light and easy to use I am thinking of getting the 40v next. Have some bigger projects I think it would be perfect for.
