The Alexa doesn't;t even know how to control the SB. It can't turn it on, change the volume or turn on the TV. Our previous brand could be controlled with the TV remote and didn't time out. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit fits atop of a 6 foot bookcase for us -- thus, discreet and easy to operate with the remote. Direct line of sight. Keep in mind -- I use it as a simpleton! I do use it as a Bluetooth device and that has been easy and seamless with my Chromebook for the NPR news and Pandora music. I wanted to have clear, clean sound -- thus do not use any of the "enhancer" modes. For what I needed, it works perfect. If you want the BIG, full room booming sound envelopment or 3D sound, look for other reviews on how it might meet your needs. We got this item on sale; thus a bargain for a Yamaha product!!!

First, product does not automatically connect to my Samsung TV. My TV will tell me the Yamaha isn't "on," even though it is. So five minutes of trying everything to get them to connect. My visio with the same TV in another room connects automatically. That's the way it oughta be. Once I get it "on," it gets worse. This sound bar is only marginally better than the TV sound. It sounds like a sound bar in another room or like it has a thick towel wrapped around it - or alternately on other settings, like someone put reverb on the TV sound. This unit is a fail.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this is a refurbished model I purchased, it performs remarkably well. Unlike my previous soundbar, by a different maker, that was brand new and only lasted 2 weeks before ''giving up the ghost", this one has made it 2 MONTHS already with little to no trouble. The overall sound quality is top-notch and the audio enhancement features are good and easy to use. I especially like the Clear Voice feature as it does an excellent job of boosting the dialogue in TV shows and movies so you don't have to turn up the main volume and then get overwhelmed by the action sequences when they kick in. The Extended Bass feature adds some much needed "punch" to certain scenes to help make the sound seem more life like. It is almost not necessary to adjust the other bass controls when using it. Bluetooth is relatively simple to connect to. The one thing you need to keep in mind is, if your phone, or other portable device, is capable of using both the 2.4G and 5G bands, that you make sure it is set to 2.4G or it WILL NOT connect as this soundbar only uses the 2.4G band. Overall this is a very well made soundbar that is easy to use and sounds great.

I wish they would include a stand so that it could be stood up on its edge, it provides better sound than just sitting flat.
