Excellent receiver! If you are looking at purchasing this, don't hesitate. I purchased one for my wife and I. We liked it so much I purchased a 2nd one for my parents. Ours replaced an Onkyo. Theirs replaced a Sony. I was an Onkyo user for many years. Now I am completely sold on Yamaha! I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up and the questions I did have, I reached out to Yama tech support and they answered every one of them. An excellent company to deal with!
Nice improvement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The clarity of surround sound speakers and enhanced vocals in front of of the viewing area are a pleasant improvement from my 20 year old Yamaha receiver.
Love It

I had a nice Denon, but the TSR-700 is noticably better!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a Denon AVR-X2300W that I always thought was good ... but the Yamaha TSR-700 has blown us away with its improved sound and separation. I am no audiophile, but the difference is obvious — and actually quite shocking. The TSR-700 has elevated the cinematic experience significantly. My only gripe: I wish the display was easier to read from a distance, but that's a small quibble. Bravo to Yamaha for producing such a fine, value-priced receiver!
A wonderful addition

I was a bit leary at first because I have always gotten the flagship from yamaha. But this component has proven me wrong.
I like the product but I would not buy it again.

Great sound, but and annoying pop upon first startup of the day. I have changed wiring and speakers and still happens.
Fantastic, feature rich A/V! Best value in town.

Set up for Livingroom entertainment center. Great sound, size, connection options. List of issues: 1. Over-complicated setup. You practically have to be a sound engineer to understand the verbiage. 2. Ridiculously narrow and short remote range. Makes it very difficult to use inside a cabinet in a large room. Smart phone app helps this but not everyone wants to use a smart phone. 3. Bluetooth version is old which makes it impossible to listen using Bluetooth headphones while watching TV. Sync is horrible! Apparently most MFRs use older version of Bluetooth...Why? 4. Volume units is in dB which, again, is for sound engineers. How about an option for laymen's units (1-100 or 1-10)?
I would by this product again, hands down!

This replaced a 20+ year old Yamaha RV-1105, which still worked well. But I needed a unit that would support Bluetooth and HDMI, and more ports. This certainly fits the bill, came in under budget, and retained the sound I had with my older Yamaha. Still allows for warm sound when needed.
Good value, easy setup.

Easy to setup. Nice clean appearance, not too many knobs/buttons to detract from the look.
I like it but please fix the lag in the remote

This is a review after one week of use. Software update was so easy over WiFi. It sounds great. However, it has a horrible 2-3 seconds lag when you use the remote. When you push a button you have to wait 3 seconds for the menu to show up on the TV display. It's not acceptable, I hope you can fix it with a software update. Second, the display on the unit is not informative. I liked the RX-V675 display. The best part was I was able to see how many speakers were active when I watched the movie. Now, I cannot do that. If I want to check the mode, I have to use the remote and screen display. But it is annoying to wait 3 seconds. Also the quick screen option used to have 7.channel surround on off option. That is missing. Otherwise I would give 5 start. Hopefully later I write a long term usage comments.
Great receiver, great value
