We noticed our youngest daughter was starting to ride theirs, so we decided she needed one of her own. She's about an average size 4-year-old and has no trouble. It did take a few weeks to loosen everything up so that it wouldn't tip over while riding, but now works great. She loves everything about it. I can see this lasting maybe 2 years before we'll need to move up to the next size.
