Necessity as the “father” of invention As a concerned parent whose child suffered from nighttime breathing difficulties, inventor Gary Goldberg used three generations of his family’s textile manufacturing background to develop the solution. The result was an advanced fabric technology called MicronOne® with a weave so tiny (each square inch contains about 3 billion pores) no allergen, bed bug or spill can penetrate it — yet so comfortable and breathable, you virtually don’t know it’s there. And as a frequent launderer of encasements necessary to help his son, Goldberg also learned firsthand how important usability was. Ever since all CleanRest® products have been designed for easy 1-person installation and removal with EZ-Stretch fabrics, zip-off tops and/or designs that won't trap air. Goldberg’s other notable patented bedding invention was the Zip-N-Click® closure system to make the securing of encasements certain and a snap. His innovation was driven by the desire to help hotel guests whose travels are negatively affected by bed bugs.
