I really liked how my hair came out with 40 dark brown. This is my 2nd time using this product (1st time was burgundy) and I’m very satisfied. Clear instructions, easy to use and fast results. I’m not a pro at dying my hair, I did notice I missed a few strands but I’m not complaining. I’ll do better next time :)

the new formula that Garnier has started to use is horrible and holds no comparison to how the old formula used to be. The old formula had enough product in the bottle to dye 2 heads with, the new barely had enough to dye the top of my head (albeit splotchly). The color does not stick anymore and barely worked. Bring back the old formula.

This color WAS great before it became an IMPROVED formula. Don’t ever believe that, something changes, even when the package changes something else changed. They think consumers are stupid! And NO this absolutely does not cover grays! I left it on 45 mins too. Do not recomnend!

Have been a Garnier, New Nutrisse ultra creme hair color product user for near 15 years. Used it today and was so disappointed in the darkened shade my hair turned and how little grey coverage this formula provided. I've used extra light (111) ash blonde for years. The application was very difficult and messy. Difficult to squeeze step 2 tube colorant into the bottle, difficult to apply the color as the applicator became clogged with just about every squeeze.I had to stop to shake the bottle, squeeze to unclog it, then when I squeezed, it squirted out in a clumps all over me and the counter!! This squirting occurred 4 times during the process. I was lucky not to have product get in my eyes. I would not purchase again. Product overpriced and a significantly cheapened product.

I was so excited when I saw the color on the front of the box. I should have read the reviews. This turned my hair red. Fire truck red. I'm so disappointed. It's definitely not the purple I thought I was getting.

I have already washed my hair 4x in the same week I’ve dyed it. I even had to wash it twice the day I dyed it because I got champagne in my hair on New Year’s Eve the night I dyed it. It feels amazing, it had shine and volume after I dyed it. It has a natural tinge of blue that is just so beautiful especially in sunlight

Similar to another reviewer, my hair is dark brown at the roots with a lighter color dyed towards the ends. I have a few grays at the front I really wanted to cover. I started at the roots in the front of my hair and left the dye on for 35-45 min. It’s sooo dark now, DID NOT LIGHTEN THE ROOTS and 0 gray coverage. Will not buy again.

This was the worst Garnier dye that I ever purchased. The solution was difficult to mix for some reason and the consistency was off. The color stuck too my skin and scalp it looks like a kid dyed my hair. Maybe I got a bad box but I definitely wouldn’t be purchasing this product again.

If you normally use 40 Dark Brown, the 30 Darkest Brown should be one shade darker and closer to a black. We wish we knew more to determine why your color turned out darker than usual. I bought the 30 darkest brown and it is NOT brown! I had ash blonde hair and dyed it with the dye only to see my results as BLACK HAIR! I gave it time cuz it was wet but nope! It’s black, I did not want black I wanted dark brown! Looks nothing like the photos on the box!! I’ve never had a problem before with this brand until now! Definitely never using again :(

I’ve been using garnier for many years. This new formula oh my goodness THE SMELL !!!! It’s so overwhelmingly strong that I had to move all around my house while dying my hair to get air and because of that I could not dye it properly!!! I Will never buy this dye again!!! Not to mention it was so hard squeezing the dye out of the new bottle!!! Horrible experience!!!

This is My Color!!! Literally have 4 boxes in my cabinet because I use this every 4-6 weeks to cover my roots and gray. It's very close to my natural color with an edge of the red reflects. I get compliments a lot. I've done the Olia ammonia free types too but the 535 regular is still my favorite shade.
