Add 1/2 teaspoon to 1/2 glass (4 fl. oz.) of water every 2 hours, or as directed by physician. Dissolve completely in water. Accurately measure 1/2 teaspoon. Do not take more than the following amounts in 24 hours. Seven 1/2 teaspoons. Three 1/2 teaspoons if you are over 60 years. Do not use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks., For use as a soak in the bath: Dissolve 1 to 2 cups in a tub of warm water. Soak for 10 to 30 minutes as needed, or as directed by a doctor. Pat dry (do not rub) to keep a thin layer on the skin. For use as a Compress or Wet Dressing: Add sodium bicarbonate to water to make a mixture in a container. Soak a clean, soft cloth in the mixture. Apply cloth loosely to affected area for 15-30 minutes. Repeat as needed or as directed by a doctor. A: Thank you for your question, Emily P. Arm & Hammer Baking Soda got its start as a mined ore called trona. Trona is mined in the Green River Basin of Wyoming. Trona deposits were formed over four million years ago after the evaporation of great salt lakes in Wyoming, as well as in Kenya, Egypt, Venezuela, and the deserts of Central Asia. After trona is mined from these areas, the trona ore is heated to make soda ash (sodium carbonate), which is then dissolved in water. When carbon dioxide is bubbled through the solution under pressure, sodium bicarbonate forms and precipitates out of the solution. Q: Is 1-pound baking soda the same as 2-pound's? If yes, why the box is labeled "fresh for baking" on 1-pound baking soda and 'natural cleaning for your whole kitchen' on 2-pound's?

Just put some baking soda in a glass jar and mix in 20-40 drops of essential oil. Put some paper over the top and secure with rubber band. Poke holes in the paper and voila done. Works in my gym to eliminate sweat odors.

I buy the 4pound box every 2-3 months. My brother is always working on a vehicle of some kind and gets his clothes dirty and smelly. I add Arm & Hammer baking soda to every one of his loads to freshen his work clothes. He even notices the difference and tells me no one ever went to this length to clean his clothes.

I pour in 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 vinegar. I then let this sit for about 15 minutes then pour in 2 cups of boiling water. It keeps them clean and fresh.
