Shake well. Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply: after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating; immediately after towel drying; at least every 2 hours. Sun protection measures. Spending time in the sun increases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun especially from: 10 am - 2 pm; wearing long-sleeve shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses.Children Under 6 Months

A: Fwiw, the product packaging itself lists it as "Vegan" on the back.

A: Sunscreen is considered and OTC drug and many retailers require this warning be listed, however all of our products are safe for children 6 months and older. Additionally as with all skincare products, we suggest doing a small patch test to check for any sensitivity prior to use.

Q: Can this be used on the face? besides spf, is there a formula difference between this and the bare republic face lotion?

A: Our Body sunscreens can absolutely be used on the face however our body lotions will feel a little bit thicker than our face formulas, while our face sunscreens are formulated to apply much more sheer and lightweight. As with all skincare products, we suggest doing a small patch test for any sensitivities prior to use.

Yes... it definely leaves a white cast, but way less than most zinc sunblocks. You do have to work to blend it in, but it also doesn't leave you sticky like others I've used. It has a lovely vanilla smell, which is great for me as I loath the scent of sunblock. It works like a dream for protecting delicate skin. Kept my family burn-free while spending lots of time out on 9+ UV index days. No reaction from the person in our family prone to contact dermatitis. Its zinc based... it works well... but you just have to deal with the white cast and thickness to reap the benefits.

This was the only sunscreen we used during a week in the Virgin Islands last June, and it worked like a dream for these two incredibly pale people. The scent is strong, but now I associate it with memories of a week in paradise so that's fine by me! There's definitely a white cast but for my melanin deficient self that isn't a problem.

This leaves a white cast unfortunately so if you have skin that any darker than a medium shade it may not be for you. Despite the cast, it definitely works well - kept me from getting sunburnt after several hours in direct sunlight, but just couldn't stand looking ashy and gray with this so I will have to keep looking for a clean, no white cast mineral sunscreen.

I used this for a Caribbean cruise during the winter. I am very fair skinned and burn easily. This worked great for me. I didn't burn at all as long as I re-applied every hour or so. It absolutely performed better for me than the more traditional spray-on sunscreen. It blended as well as any other kinds of lotion for me. The smell was fine and I'm usually pretty sensitive to smells. For comparison I had my husband try a different brand of mineral sunscreen and I thought it smelled awful even though it was labeled "unscented".

The sunscreen goes on very dry and is hard to spread unless you already have lotion on. Even with lotion already on it makes your skin blue/purple. I am a person of color and it just doesn’t look nice having a blue/purple tint over your skin. It smells great and I like the idea of the brand however it just doesn’t work well for an everyday sunscreen. This is better for the beach where you may not care if you have a blue/purple color to your skin.

When I bought it, I noticed it sounded pretty liquid-y inside and didn't pay it much attention figuring it was probably in a hot truck and that it'd thicken later in cooler temperature. Nope. It's just water. I tried shaking it and when I went to apply it, liquid poured out

This sunscreen smells so strong it is unbearable. I had to take it off immediately. The scent was stuck in my nose all day and I got a headache. It had a mild white cast that could be blended out but the scent was horrible. I returned it and will never repurchase.

I wish I would have read reviews not from their website. Hard to apply, doesn’t rub in, leaves a white film on skin, and I don’t like the smell at all. I have a really good smeller and it is making me nauseous.

DO NOT USE. I’ve used this twice and both times I’ve fried. I have reapplied as you’re supposed to and there is no protection. Nothing whatsoever.

I've tried this twice now and it makes me break out in contact dermatitis. I've never had a sunscreen do this! I am not sure if it's the vanilla fragrance or what but I had to throw it away.

The worst sunscreen I’ve ever used. It leaves a white cast on even lighter skin tones. Then it is impossible to rinse off, have to scrub forever for it to come off.

My partner and I applied this sunscreen as directed- even leaving a white layer on our skin because it does not rub in. WE STILL BURNED. Every area of our body exposed to the sun and covered by this "sunscreen" burned. We even went home after the beach and had to scrub off the white layer of sunscreen that covered our completely burned skin. It is honestly as though we did not put any sunscreen on at all. I cannot emphasize enough, if you want a product that protects your skin from the sun, THIS IS NOT THE PRODUCT FOR YOU.

I was looking for a mineral sunscreen because I react to chemical ones. This was exactly what I was looking for. It does leave a white cast if you're not careful, but it also doesn't dry out my skin which is a compromise I'm willing to make. it's a little on the runny side but that makes it easy to apply in my opinion
