Q: is this product lead free?

submitted by Tuhabuts - 1 year ago
  • A: Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. I will be more than happy to assist you with your inquiry about the lead content in CrockPot slow cookers. We regularly employ rigorous third-party testing to ensure that our slow cookers meet or exceed all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including those related to lead content. Consumers should feel confident that our products are safe to use.  The glaze of our ceramic pots is a silicate made of quartz, feldspar, and clay. The glaze is covered over the pot, fired at high temperature to melt the glaze, and then cooled down. The glaze liquid is then turned into coating the same as glass film on the surface of the pot. This does not contain PTFE & PFOA.  I hope this has helped and please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further queries. Please contact us directly via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time. Thank you and please stay safe! Crockpot Consumer Care

Q: The stoneware fits VERY loosely in the base and can move over 1" side to side and can also move towards the handles. I have owned other slow cookers and have never seen the stoneware move laterally when it is in the base. Are they all made this way?

submitted by plainvilletarget - 5 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question. It is okay for the stoneware to be loose. The base unit has a heating element on the sides and on the bottom. If you feel that the stoneware is too loose, please reach out to us at 1-800-323-9519. We are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm EST.

Q: Does the outside of the unit get hot?

submitted by The Millers - 1 year ago
  • A: Hello! Due to the proximity between the heating element and the exterior of our slow cookers, it is normal for them to get quite hot on the outside. The heating element wraps around the sides of the unit. Therefore, on both the outside of the unit and in the product's instruction manual we recommend using a hot pad if you need to touch the unit during cooking. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via our official CrockPot "Contact Us" website or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Q: Is this Pot 220 Voltage or 120 Voltage ? Thank you

submitted by andy - 1 year ago
  • A: Hello! Thanks for reaching out to us! We will be more than happy to answer your question! All CrockPot units from USA or Canada operate on a standard 120V AC and are only for use in the United States and Canada. Please note that using your product outside of the US and Canada will void the product warranty.  We do not recommend using transformers, converters, or adapters as they have not been tested with our products and we cannot guarantee that your product will be safe to use.  We recommend searching for CrockPot products manufactured in accordance with the voltage standards in your area. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via our official CrockPot "Contact Us" website or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. There is no light to tell you it's on. When it is on, it is hot enough on the outside surface that I was burned badly enough to blister. I'd buy something else.

Can’t live with my Crock Pot

I have used “crock pot” my entire adult life and have purchased 3 total. My crock pots have lasted at least 10 years each and none have ever broken. I simply have given my old crockpots away and purchase a new one when I change appliances in my kitchen.

I've had this slow cooker for 5 years. Have probably used it at least 60 times. Pros Makes great chilli, soups, sauces, casseroles overnight Easy to clean Great size - Roomy Reliable slow cooker Good Price (much less than designer models) Cons Outside does get very hot. (Use away from children/pets in safe, well ventilated spot) Lid fits poorly Writing has worn off the settings High heat is very hot (but I like it)

Crockpots keep trying to get fancy but I've bought several of these crockpots and love just the original! They last a long time, look good on the counter, and cook the most evenly in my opinion. These are super simple and easy to operate.

Another faulty unit. The bowl wobbles around in the heating unit, and "low" has my soup boiling! The boilg point of water is 212 and tomato sauce is ~208 (F). So, the LOW setting is defective. On another Crock Pot unit I bought, the documentation explains that it quickly raises the temp to 210 (I think... maybe off a couple degrees) and then simmers it for hours. THAT IS NOT LOW.
1 reply from Customer Care team - 1 month ago
Hello, The bowl may have a slight wobble because it is designed to allow airflow between the crock and the heating base for safe and efficient cooking. This does not impact the performance or safety of the unit. Regarding the "Low" setting, our slow cookers are designed to bring food to a safe temperature and then maintain a simmer. However, if it feels too hot or the performance doesn’t meet expectations, we encourage you to reach out to our support team via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through Live Chat stating your complaint so we can help you further. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am – 8pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Crock-Pot Consumer Care

Lid doesn’t align properly, it wobbles around and there are only three footings on the bottom which makes it tip over easy if you’re not being extremely careful. Terrible design!!!! Used almost a year and the bottom already cracked in an immediate circle around the edges.

I have been making beef bone broth for my dog for years in my 20+ year old crockpot and thought it was time for a new one rather than wait until it goes bad. Wow, has this product line declined! The lid does not sit securely on the pot and, consequently, half of the broth evaporated. (photo shows the fill line of original broth) There is no excuse for a crockpot to be designed without air tightness. And, like other reviews, the exterior gets waaaay too hot - never had that problem with my old one. Warm yes, scorching, no. I will return for a refund and look for a new brand of slow cookers.

It is large and gets the job done; however, there are too many issues with this crock pot. The electrical cord is too short, the lid is thin and flimsy, and the outside of this crock pot gets dangerously hot to the touch which is a safety hazard.

Cooks way too fast!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve had ours for a little over a year now and I wish I had thought about it sooner, maybe I could’ve claimed warranty with it. It’s cooking everything extremely too fast. A 4lb beef roast on low is done in less than 4 hours. A lamb roast is done in 3 or less. The meat is therefore not cooked the best and is tougher. I guess it’s time to look for a different one.
