Q: I have an air fryer (not this brand) that has the coating of the basket flaking off. Will this one do that?

A: Aerosol oils contribute to flaking. Do not use with air fryer.
submitted byMac - 9 months agoA: Yes - the basket flakes. I have never put food directly on any part of the air fryer, but rather use aluminum foil and I have never put it in the dishwasher. It is very dangerous and unhealthy!

submitted by2 - 5 months agoA: Yes it will. And it does. I've owned several Gourmia air fryers and the basket flakes and the grill plate. Customer service is helpful, but the problem persists. No matter how gentle you clean or avoid using oils or sprays, it keeps happening.

A: I use liners in the basket that way your food doesn’t touch the basket and you don’t have to worry about flaking.

I purchased this Dec 2023, And it stopped working July 2025. 1year and 7 month is Very short life. It’s one year warranty so Gourmia CS won’t do anything. Disappointed.

The air fryer is a nice shape, with easy functionality. It works well too. However, the nonstick coating on the tray and basket is terrible. We've had this air fryer for ~6 months and only ever hand washed it. I cannot understand how the coating stopped working so quickly. Cooking any meat in the airfryer leaves a terrible and difficult mess to clean up. I believe it's reached the point that this air fryer is no longer of use to me; such a waste.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER GET THIS AIR FRYER!! TARGET WILL NOT HELP YOU REPLACE. THEY WILL JUST OFFER A $15 GIFT CARD. IF ITS OUT OF THE 1 YEAR WARRANTY ANF GUESS WHAT THE ITEM WILL BREAK RIGHT ONCE WARRANTY IS UP. NEVER EVER EVER GET THIS!!! I received this Gourmia air fryer as a gift and was excited to use it. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a big disappointment. After only a short period of normal use, the top has warped and melted (see photo). For a kitchen appliance designed to handle high heat, this is unacceptable and raises serious safety concerns. The damage makes it difficult to close properly, and I don’t feel safe continuing to use it. It’s frustrating because I had high expectations for the brand, but the build quality is clearly lacking. Since this was a gift, I can’t return it, but I definitely would not recommend buying one. If you’re looking for an air fryer, I’d suggest choosing a different brand that’s safer and built to last.
