Q: Did you change something? I cannot get the mascara off. At first I thought I had waterproof and I purchased by mistake but I triple checked, and it’s my regular one. I normally purchase. I stays on even after makeup remover.

I have been using this mascara for over 20 years. It USED to be the best mascara out there - way better than high end brands. The new formula, however, is absolutely AWFUL!! Doesn’t give much volume, clumps together, doesn’t layer, irritates my eyes, and is impossible to wash off. I’m so beyond disappointed, I used to recommend this mascara to everyone, as I would get stopped regularly by people asking what mascara I used. I will never ever purchase this again, unless they change it back to the amazing formula I had used for 20+ years. Shame on whoever decided to reformulate a former holy grail product into crap.

My high school bestie introduced this mascara to me back in 2007. I made the jump from the cheap pink and green tube and loved it. Convinced that *something* must be better because it’s been nearly 20 years, a few times a year I go try other drugstore and high-end mascaras (Lancôme, Tarte, too faced, buxom, benefit, to name a few). I’ve found a few I like okay enough, but but I always, always come back to my tried and true. She has never let me down! No flaking, no smudging, and the perfect balance of volume and lengthening. Comfortable application with no pokey silicone wand bristles. What more can you ask for? I can’t think of one negative thing I could say about it. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a shot. It could be worth the gamble!

The original Voluminous is great but the burgundy is terrible!! Irritates my eyes-I double cleanse and still wake up with bright red eyes after wearing this one—and is causing my eyelashes to fall out?? Do not buy.

Definitely not waterproof. And it does not hold a curl at all. Since the purple is not waterproof, and i have oily lids, i now look like i have been punched in both eyes.

I was so excited to buy this mascara because I have a green sweater that I wanted to wear, and I thought the green mascara would be a hit! I carefully read the instructions, and applied it to my lashes. YOU CAN'T SEE THE COLOR no matter how much you apply it to your lashes. I checked the expiration date, and that seems to not be the issue...........huge disappointment! I'm glad it wasn't too expensive, but it was still a waste of money. I'm glad I did not have an allergic reaction like some of the other reviewers experienced. :-(

I decided to check the reviews after noticing my eyes have been itchy since switching to this mascara. Itchy and red along the eyelid where the lashes meet the skin. I didn't change anything else in my routine, only this mascara and now I will throw it out. Not worth it. Maybelline and Clinique don't give me any issues.

I started using the burgundy color mascara, loved the look, didn't have issues washing it off but the last two times I used it a ton of my eyelashes fell out! Like 6-7 eyelashes and I have never had this happen even with waterproof or false lashes.

I am going to have to search out a new mascara. I see that there have been many complaints about this new formula. Very disappointed.

Had a terrible Reaction to the burgundy mascara. Eyes became super inflamed and red and swollen almost shut, had to get a shot and put on allergy medication and antibiotics.

It was ok. Applied fine but easy to overdo and end up with clumpy lashes. I work long shifts and noticed it starts to flake after about 4 or 5 hours. I would have dark circles under my eyes until i cleaned it up with a paper towel. It also became very itchy for me. I thought my initial one was just old so i bought a brand new one and am having the same issue.

This used to be one of my favorite mascaras. The formula must've changed in recent years b/c the last few times I've purchased, it's been a clumpy mess! There are way better mascaras out there in this price range. I will not be buying it again.

Unfortunately, this is not worth the buy even at the bargain pricepoint. I purchased the Deep Burgundy, which is lacking in pigmented color, just looks like a deep brown on my lashes. The product is thick and rather clumpy, had to use a lash comb to smooth and separate. Do not recommend.
