200 Nude Too Drying, Cakey, and Yellow
1 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
jbarsm - 1 month ago, Verified purchaser
After Revlon changed Color Stay a year or two ago to all the neutral to mid colors having an orange color to them, I switched to Revlon's Illuminance 217 Beige. The Illuminance was too dewy on my skin, but I did like how easily it went on and how the color matched my skin. The Illuminance did not sink into every nuke and cranny of my skin, and therefore was easier to remove. The most recent change to the Color Stay Formula in the 200 Nude color is too drying and cakey, even with moisturizer, and it looks too yellowish on my skin. The Buff color looked like it would be too light, however, I "may" give it try as every color seems to have a different texture and undertone. Revlon really needs to go back to the formula that was around before 2020 that so many women liked.

I have been a makeup artist for over 15 years. I have used and compared both high end and drugstore foundations. This normal/dry formula is a dupe for higher end brands. The consistency is similar to studio fix and double wear. I personally love the thinner consistency for a buildable coverage. The finish is natural (not too glowy and not too matte). It is a flexible finish, depending on skin prep. You can make this a more glowy finish or more matte. I have normal/dry skin in the winter and if not prepped properly with moisturizer this foundation can be more drying, while still giving a smooth finish. It does not emphasize texture or pores like some of the higher end formulas meant for normal/dry skin. For the price point, Revlon is on to something with this formula. I have med-tan skin and the shade fresh beige is perfect! I like that their shades have a mix of warm, neutral, and cool tones. Some of the higher end shades are either too warm or too cool. The beauty community is sleeping on this new formula due to all the other new foundation releases constantly evolving. I think this one needs more credit!

I used this foundation for years... before the horrific headache/allergic red eyes formula and then again after when they fixed it. Then again when they changed it and back again, but they have blown it with this formulation. Both the oily and dry skin formulas dry out your skin and are matte finishes. It used to be perfection... with great coverage and a satin finish now, it dry, gets into all my lines but the worst part is that over a few days of wearing it,, it actually sucks moisture from my skin and I have to stop wearing it all together. I've written to them and asked them to change it back, make it like it once was. You have two that are for oily skin... they are both drying. I'm struggling and trying other lines... I think I've found a replacement, but its too bad. I guess your only customers are those in their 20s or with oily skin

I have used this foundation since it became available. Was it the 80’s? It has only gotten better through the years. I started using the combo oily when I was younger and now that I am older and my skin has changed I use the normal/dry formula. The coverage is excellent and lasts throughout the day. Never let this one go, Revlon!!
No longer my favorite foundation.

I’ve used this makeup for years, and I thought I was imagining things when it seemed to change. It used to be thicker— you had to apply it quickly and it stayed on all day. Now it’s very runny, doesn’t cover as well, and seems to disappear more quickly. The colors swatches and numbering system are ridiculous. The colors are not in any order of shade or hue. Also, colors listed as WARM, like Deep Honey, are lighter and cooler in tone than True Beige. True Beige, #320, is darker than Deep Honey, #395. Maybe part of the problem is the genius who decided to put the color names on the plastic cap instead of the bottle. Who knows when in the process the caps are added and how can we be sure they go on the correct bottles. I’m shopping for new makeup for the first time in many years.
Why change a good thing.

I have used Revlon Color Stay foundation for 20+ years. I wish companies would leave a good thing alone. The new formula is horrible. It just sits in the skin and settles in fine lines and wrinkles. Please please please go back to the old formula.
Good over all for daily use

Revlon ColorStay Makeup Foundation is a long-lasting, full-coverage formula that provides a flawless finish throughout the day. Its smooth texture blends easily into the skin, offering a natural matte or dewy look depending on the formula you choose. The foundation is available in a wide range of shades, making it suitable for a variety of skin tones. It controls oil and resists transfer, ensuring a fresh appearance even in humid conditions. Overall, Revlon ColorStay is a reliable, high-performance foundation that delivers great coverage and wear time at an affordable price.

I love this new version! Great coverage and goes on smoothly. I tried the ColorStay foundation years ago (probably, like, ~15yrs.) but it made me breakout with very large painful cystic acne. It turns out I’m allergic to Bismuth Oxychloride, which was in the ingredients list at the time. Now that I’ve discovered it’s not anymore, I tried it again. This is an excellent foundation and one I will continue to buy if this version stays around❣️

This foundation is not worth the hype. It isn’t long wear either. The shade range sucks and the undertones are way off. I bought it in a lighter shade and it looked grey in the bottle. I’ve never been a Revlon makeup girl, and this is part of the reason why I won’t be buying their products anymore. Except their hair products.

The Color Stay New formula is awful. It is thick on the inside of the bottle, and the oily water runs out, making a mess. Please bring back the old formula—it was perfect.

I love this foundation! I needed a new foundation before vacation and decided to go with this one since my skin has been dry, but i knew i needed good coverage and long wear. It has a beautiful skin-like finish. It’s easy to blend with your hands, brushes, or a sponge. I love the pump packaging. The shade range is also pretty good, lots of shades ranging from super light to dark.

I have used Revlon Colorstay for years. I don't use a lot of makeup; the Colorstay Longwear Makeup is all have used for many years. When I bought my latest bottle, it appeared to be the same as I had been using-24 hrs 220 Normal to dry skin. The first time I wore the new product was Sunday to church. When I got home I noticed a fine rash on my face. I washed my face and by evening the rash was gone. Since I was going out on Tues. I applied it again. I had not associated the makeup to the rash. However after I had worn it for a few hours the rash reappeared. I fished my empty bottle from the garbage and compared the two labels. At first I didn't notice a difference. I then noticed the cap,was printed Hyaluronic Acid. This may be something my skin is sensitive to. Does Revon make a comparable product without this ingredient? I have been using Revlon for so long,I hate to have to change brands at my age. Thank you for your assistance. Jeannie

I miss the old 24 hrs formula. This new ine with the hyaluronic acid is not good. The foundation in the bottle separates and turns very white.
I miss the old formulation without all the added stuff...

Makeup was great but the hylauronic acid addition not so much. Also, take the sunscreen out please! It makes the foundation not stay on as long. That's what mousturizer is for!
