This Shea Moisture African Black Soap Face & Body Bar is a gentle cleanser that provides instant resurfacing benefits while helping to balance blemish-prone skin. African Black Soap and Shea Butter combine with Tamarind Extract and Tea Tree Oil to absorb impurities and clarify skin. In this facial cleanser, Tamarind Extract is a natural astringent that helps exfoliate skin. In this facial cleanser, Tea Tree Oil is a gently purifying essential oil that helps to soothe and mattify skin. Apply face wash to damp skin. Gently massage face cleanser into the face and neck using circular motions. Rinse thoroughly. Use once or twice weekly as required. Follow with African Black Soap Clarifying Toner. Q: Does Shea moisture organic black soap reduce pores size and slough off dead skin cells

A: I'm not sure b/c I just use the bar soap on my hands. Most soaps and hand washes itch or break my skin out. When I have an eczema outbreak, it's generally on my hands. The soap works very well on my hands; it calms my skin down and so far, it clears it right away. I have some of their body wash that I haven't tried yet. I don't see anything on the soap package or body wash regarding pores. The bar soap wrapper states "for acne prone skin and body bar". The body wash mentions helping psoriasis, and eczema. Neither mention pores, but heck, it can't hurt to try it and let us know.

Overpriced for hotel sized soaps! You can spend $1 more and get more than twice as much in a single bar. I like this product, but be careful because they hide the fact there are other sizes from you and this is the first that comes up when searching.

I hated how it left a filmy residue all over my skin that I could feel. It made my skin rough and made it such that it felt cleaner without having used the soap versus after and it left a sticky mess on ym skin. This happens with a lot of Bar soaps I have used, with very few exceptions

I love this soap. This is the first antibacterial soap that I found works every time. It has a subtle scent. The bar is also larger than most so it lasts a few months. The soap is more noticeable in the shower because of the black tint

I absolutely love using this product! It has a mild, relaxing scent. It doesn't lather a lot, but I'm ok with that. I like that the ingredients are natural moisturerizing to my skin. I've been having less acne since using this!!

I have been using this soap for 8+ years. It’s one of the best things I have found for my skin. I never had terrible acne to begin with but I did have frequent breakouts and since using this I soap I can’t remember the last time I had a flare up. For all the ppl mentioning the bar scratched their skin, why are you rubbing it on your face?? You lather in your hands THEN wash your face. Since this soap is antibacterial, you can use it other places than just your face, such as pits, feet, creases or anywhere else that can/will harbor bacteria. It is a little drying but nothing extreme and if you have a good skin care routine, as you should, and you MOISTURIZE like we should all be doing, then there’s nothing to worry abt. Whether you choose the 3.5oz or 8oz bar, buy it and try it. Like I said, I’ve been using for 8+ years and I have nothing but great things to say.

I decided to give this soap a try after much research because regular African black soap has a reputation on its own and so does Shea so I said both of them combined something has to work. I received this product on Friday April 13th and today on April 17th I can truly say to you all the razor bumps and rough skin on my face that I was use to is cleared up. It does not leave the skin irritated, ashy, cracked or dry but it leaves it with a nice smooth and oily finish. The soap allows new growth to grow in as well as give you a nice organic cocoa and shea smell. THIS SOAP HYDRATES, EXFOLIATES, CLEARS UP AND MOISTURIZES all in one. If you purchase go ahead and purchase 2 and make sure you don't run through it quickly.

I purchased this sheamoisture African black soap for myself and one for my son since we have pretty dry skin and also keratosis Polaris so I really thought this could help since I heard it’s very helpful. I don’t think I used it very long because I really don’t personally like bar soap. It does lather really good though. It would have been great for my son, but the soap is dark brown and he kept messing with it all over the bathtub and brown would get everywhere and then on my white towels. Didn’t seem to make a noticeable difference for the amount of time we did try.
