Wrong legs shipped? Side spindles do not fit properly.

We ordered two of these stools and were pleased with the quality and price. However, where the tenons of the two side spindles assemble into the front legs, either the mortise holes were machined in the wrong place or the company shipped us parts from a different stool. The side spindles do not install horizontally, as shown in the picture, but at an akward angle, and the joints fit poorly. We like the stools enough that we had a carpenter drill out new holes at the correct height.

JW, We are sorry you had an issue with the assembly of the Torino Craftsmen Counter Height Barstool. This issue occurs when the front two legs are put on the wrong side. We will work on having the right and left front leg marked better in the future as they are not interchangeable.

While these chairs look good from a distance, the design is not so hot. Putting them together was like trying to balance the national budget. In the end, the cross supports between the legs did not fit flush, and the legs wobble due to them not being the same length. The chairs are comfortable and perfect for countertop height, but unless you are a master carpenter with an affinity for woodworking, don't go anywhere near these chairs.

I love these chairs. They are very nice and easy to put together. However, I have two chairs out four where the side rails do not fit flush against the legs from front to back. Of course the company that made the chairs states to contact them directly if there is a problem. I contacted them regarding the the side rails. In an email, I was told they did not have the parts available nor were they on backorder so they were unable to send me the side rails and I should contact Target, take them apart and ship them or take them back to a local store. If you still make and sell these chairs, your company should these parts available. I feel as though I'm getting the run around. I will never order another product made by this company.
