DEMEYERE Resto Stainless Steel Tea Kettle

This is an absolutely beautiful and well-made kettle. It rated well in outside reviews for safety of metals, too. Just be careful when ordering so you don’t make the same mistake I did — the 6 quart kettle is fairly enormous! I thought the photo below the item in the description section was of the size I was ordering, but that photo of someone pouring the kettle is the 4 quart version. I returned the 6-qt and bought the 4-qt, and it is a perfect standard size. It was a gift for my mom and she loves it and says it performs beautifully.

The kettle build quality is great while the plastic handle and knob feels cheap. I know I should not dry burn it (it's clearly specified in the manual) but within two months, I have already thrown away two of these tea kettles due to leaving it dry burn. The bottom part of the kettle will fall apart if you leave it dry burn and you will have no choice but throw it away. I have an electric ceramic top stoves and it would take mora than 50mins on medium heat setting just to boil water, without build in whistle to remind me, it's easy for me to forget about it. I really want to love this product but unfortunately it is not for a forgetful old man like me.

I have bought the same kettle about 2010 and have been using it since then - Excellent kettle. This new purchase is for my son who will be moving to his own home.

It is not stainless steel at all!

Nice size. Large with wide bottom. Sturdy. Excellent heft. Very shiny. Water heats up quickly even on my glass cooktop.

I've searched for a large tea kettle for a while, but hadn't found one of good quality until I found the Demeyere Resto 6.3 quart kettle. It's beautiful and I know it's going to last a long long time.

Pot leaking at base of pouring spout. Cost to return almost same as purchase, so it will be trash. Will never buy from site again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like everything about this, aside from the fact that the water doesn’t always come out as a stream, it sometimes percolates as the water comes out which can be alarming with hot water. If you release the steam (by moving the kettle around) it seems to help but not 100% of the way.

This teapot is beautiful. I use it on my woodstove to humidify the room. It holds a lot of water.

This tea kettle is just what I was looking for. The kettle boils water faster than other kettles I have owned. I like the large capacity. The kettle pours drip free which seems to be rare these days. I use this kettle everyday and it's great. I don't miss having a whistle at all. I also use this as a humidifier in winter months. I have been using this kettle for months and I'm sure it will last years.

It’s nice, big and functional of thousands year classic design! There’s a trick to remove the label at the bottom of kettle! That’s is pouring 1 cup of warm water to melt the glue of label! And there you go easy peeling off it! Great found great buy :)

Just look at the pictures use less than a month

I bought the smaller 4.2-quart kettle. It is very nice looking but it is too big and very heavy; 3 pounds when empty. I will return it.

We just got this product and I expect it will give good service for a long time. But why, in 2021, does the manufacturer have to stick a label on the bottom that must be removed with nail polish remover or lacquer thinner? That’s insane. Apart from the idiotic label, the kettle itself seems great.

This tea kettle is very well designed. Keeps water hot for an hour or more so you do not need to reheat as often. Happy it does not whistle so no disturbing others in the morning. Heavy weight will not dent easily.

Do not buy this kettle. Rusty spots appeared inside after the first use.
