To help provide additional protection to the floors, the base has a concealed plastic ring. Acquired this stools for a very decent price. They came in 2 boxes, 3 pieces per stool. It took us less than 10 Minutes to assemble all three stools. Pretty much place, snap and done. They look great. Material is soft and they are comfortable. One has a small wrinkle but hope it smooths with use. Well worth the price. Shipping was fast.
