Description
The 12” – 20V Grass Trimmer & Edger from Worx is the way to step up your lawn. This convenient 2-in-1 saves you the cost of buying a separate edger, and the included 20V Li-ion battery can be used to power other cordless Worx PowerShare tools. But the savings and flexibility isn’t worth it if the tool doesn’t perform. Never fear, this trimmer/edger combo has the power and modern tech to leave your lawn looking crisp and clean.
The energy-efficient motor spins at 8500 revs/minute, tearing through grass and dirt for long, straight lines. And the spool that comes with this tool is wound with the patented DNA2 DoubleHelix line, featuring its oval-shaped design that reduces drag and withstands snapping. This trimmer is cordless, so you can travel around the yard without getting snagged or having to stay close to an outlet. And it’s much cleaner, quieter, and less expensive to operate than a gas-powered tool. The 12” cutting diameter is wide enough to quickly trim over large patches of grass, yet it’s nimble enough to trim between trees, bushes and other landscaping elements. And at only 5.5 lbs with the battery installed, it’s light enough for anyone to take it out for a spin.

I have many Worx tools and my last trimmer lasted me about 5 years. I just bought a new one a few months back and it already died. I'm hoping it will be taken care of as I didn't get much use out of it yet. Other than that I was happy with the trimmer. It's light enough to cut all my weeds which is about 3 acres worth and I don't get tired of holding it like most trimmers. It's pretty powerful for cordless and last longer if you use the bigger 20v battery.

I bought a bundled package of 3 WORX tools, all work great but I didn't realize that the trimmer a manual feed. The manual line feed is such a hassle, I have to stop every 5 minutes to refeed the line. Please stop making these!

Hello Valued Customer! Thank you for sharing your experience and review! We greatly appreciate your honest feedback as it gives us a better understanding of where we need to improve. The trimmer does have an auto feed system, this is powered on when the tool is first started. Right when it starts the tool will release .25" of line and to push more out you would stop the tool and start it again. If the trimmer is not doing this please email us at worx@positecgroup.com to advise us of your specific issue and we'd be more than happy to help you. Thank you for choosing Worx!

I bought this product several years ago and LOVED IT!! It quit so I bought a new one. I'm not as happy with the "new and improved" model. The battery doesn't stay seated and stops working. I'm constantly re-seating and restarting it. The way you now have to change it from edging to trimming (and back) is annoying to say the least. Every time you change it you also have to redo the length of the handle. I'm a 70 year old woman and I really like the ease of use and weight but I'm not happy with the "re-engineering" of it. It's more awkward to re-adjust from edge to trim and frustrating having it continually stopping to re-seat the battery. Not sure if I would buy this particular product again.

This Cordless String Trimmer & Edger was a great addition to my lawn tool collection. This one piece allows me to weed whack around the yard then in a few clicks, I am edging. It uses the same battery as my other Worx tools and saves me some space in the shed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a breeze to do a professional job at home with this amazing, light weighed trimmer. I suffer from fibromyalgia, so I can't do lots of the thing I would like to do in my garden. But I can certainly trim the edge of our grass after my husband cuts it, and make it look like we had an expert do it. I can adjust the trimmer's height and the angle at which my hands and my back feel comfortable and don't hurt. It cuts so perfectly even. Its beautiful.

I have been using this trimmer for about 2 years now and find it very easy to use. I have had to change the spool once and it was easy to do. I love the fact that the new spools are available for life if you make that choice. The easy string feed feature works much easier than having to tap the line out like other trimmers on the market. Also very easy to change the trimmer from one edging position to another depending on your need.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had many edgers over the years, but none have been as easy to care for and use as my cordless WORX string trimmer. It is light and yet still powerful. The battery last for about 5 trims around my yard. Stores easily and is quiet when in use. My neighbors love me. I would highly recommend WORX for your next tool purchase.

I've enjoyed my Worx 12" trimmer. It's light weight and versatile. I used it almost 4 years before it conked out (3 year warranty) but, I ordered another one just like it, so I should be good for 3 more years, at least. It trims and edges very well and is light enough that it won't tire you out.

bought 170 started using March 2023, bought 162.9 started using June 2023- side by side comparison..the 162.9 is a lemon! the on button seems flimsy inside & often trimmer won't come on have to try & try The wheel falls off, will NOT stay on to attempt edging w/it. The manual linefeed is gltchy and have to spend 5-10 to get line fed. Direct comparison of 170 and 162 The 162 I am told is brand new version, but has numerous bugs and glitches and the safety release and on button seem to be extremely flimsy and broken inside.

Big upgrade for me...

I had a heavier electric string trimmer and edger from a competing brand, but it was clumsy to use and it was always difficult to find replacement string. Finally, my hand was forced when the string went out of manufacturer, for what reason(s) I don't know and no longer care, for I "upgraded" to this product. This product is: (1) Much lighter, a godsend; (2) Cordless, just pick it up and go; (3) Easy to maneuver due to its significantly lighter weight; and (4) A tad quieter, albeit the neighbors still know when I'm using it. In addition, the string seems much easier to put in and to work with, but it's early. In summary, this product looks just like the picture, and due to its light weight and being cordless handles so much easier than perhaps many others. If you've been grousing about your string trimmer for a while, perhaps you're overdue to upgrade, as I did.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of the trimmer and the power it provides is spot on for those every day and weekly edging jobs. The trimmer does what it is designed to and more. The ease of the mechanical positions makes it perfect to trim around everything you could possibly need.

This Worx trimmer/edger is my favorite Worx tool. I love them all but this helps me trim where needed and cuts a fine edge for sidewalks and driveways or anywhere you'll need an edge. The price point makes it so desirable that I actually have purchased two of them . My wife helps and she finds it to be light and yet powerful.
