Keep your above ground pool water clean, soft, and refreshing with the Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump by INTEX. The sand provides excellent water filtration as the 6-function control valve allows the pool owner to: filter, backwash and rinse, recirculate, drain and close the system. The Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump generates a pump flow rate of 2,800 gallons per hour, ideal for above ground pools. This pump requires virtually no maintenance except replacement of sand every 5 years.

No rinse setting

This filter does not have a rinse setting-this means that after a backwash, (with no option to rinse) sediment from the sand flows back into your pool. To avoid this, we have to remove the that returns the water back into the pool and let the sediment out- it works but it’s a big hassle. Another issue is the drain cap (to remove for a backwash) is made of a cheap material and actually cracked after less than 2 months of use. This filter also includes cheap, plastic hose clamps that will break. With these inconveniences, the filter runs well and my water has been clean. I would never again purchase a sand filter that does not offer a rinse setting. Next time, I will do more research before making a purchase.

Some last longer than others. This isn’t our first sand filter pump we have owned. Another blessing that came at the right time! Thankful to receive it and excited for future use. One hint if you have trouble there are links on how to set it up.

The tank cracked when we set this pump up the first time! It is plastic and evidently the pressure is too much for the low quality material. I have an 18' x 48†pool and With this filter, I have to backwash twice a day. It is not sufficient for this size pool, unlike the description states. The back wash outlet sprays all over the ground by the pool because there is no hose to connect. Very disappointed with this filter!

Assembly was easy. Operation is straightforward. Does a good job keeping pool clean. Con #1 -- if you are using this with anything but an intex brand pool you'll likely have to make a trip to the pool store. The fittings to hook to the pool are apparently made for intex pools only. Con #2-- Requires being backwashed more than I thought it would but maybe it's just because it's still fairly new. Overall satisfied with product
